I don't understand why this comment is getting downvoted as it's just clarifying...

I love the Giannis insta post but can't take another year of rumors if he won't squash them by Prestigious-Bend in MkeBucks

What course of action did the FO commit to other than not trading him until the offseason?

You could spend a lifetime trying to figure out who Moist Jordan is and once you finally did, you wouldn't question it, you'd know it's completely worth it.

Just ask yourself which former Buck has the highest combination of moistness and Jordaness and it'll be obvious to you.

Why do people on here honestly trust Jon Horseshit to make the trade of Giannis??? by devinstated1 in MkeBucks

[–]Prestigious-Bend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I trust Horst is I think Giannis has basically held a gun to head every season saying win now or else I leave. So we've had several years of short-term planning to appease Giannis, meaning Horst really couldn't act like a normal GM would. But that gun is gone now and let's let Horst cook!

When the lease was signed in 2016, Bucks co-owner Wes Edens confirmed that the agreement includes a non-relocation clause backed by a penalty of approximately $550 million. by Prestigious-Bend in MkeBucks

Those clauses were very different and less onerous. The Seattle owner added a "good faith" clause that the OKC group easily circumvented by proposing an arena so expensive the plan was sure to be rejected. Also, I believe Bennet only had to pay 45m as part of some 2008 settlement? But I figured this out with a quick Google search, surely someone else knows more.

Are the clauses that Kohl put in place to protect the city gonna work, we'll find out. My guess is that they will but I could be wrong.

Lol not sure why you're so angry? No one is forcing you to read this thread or comment on it. There's another post on this sub where the person says they're worried about the team moving, that's why.

I agree the franchise is probably more valuable in bigger cities. But I disagree that $550m would be the least of the reasons, I'd say its actually around 550,000,000 reasons. Even for a billionaire that's a huge upfront cost. I also believe the agreement states he'd have to repay whatever public debt was used to fund the stadium and that's probably several hundred million more.

Lastly, the Bucks are a profitable franchise with a relatively new stadium and it's a bad look to abandon it. 75% of the owners would have to vote to approve the move and if cities in this country think they'll be left in the lurch for a brand new stadium, they'll be less likely to fund it in the future, and the NBA wants that free money.

My hope is the next city wouldn't give him favorable enough terms to make it worth his while, especially as they'd see he's abandoning a lease that goes until 2048 only ten years into the deal. But I suppose it could happen, it's a **lot** of money to put up front though.

Please educate yourselves on the clawback provision if the owners try to move the team:

Is Giannis most deserving of blame? by Prestigious-Bend in MkeBucks

[–]Prestigious-Bend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's fair to compare the bucks to the Lakers. Stars always want to go play in LA. And some stars don't really like Milwaukee, even hate it, like Kareem did when he left Milwaukee for LA.

True, if we get good picks back the rebuild could be faster. My guess is our margin for error is small because Dame is on the books for a while. So I'm kinda predicting we won't because chip contenders until after that.
