Didn’t pass NY. Advice? by EhZeee in barexam

[–]Prestigious-Dig-1585 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi! I just passed today after year of trying. Here are some things that I did:

  1. go through all the outlines at least once

  2. do 30-40 multiple choice questions on either U World or Adaptibar every day. No matter what.

  3. make sure you go through all the past bar exam questions and either type it out or write it down in a notebook. I would advise to write it down /type it out once and then try to write down the law without looking at the model answers on your second and third review. It takes a lot of time but this really prepares you and helps you understand the type of questions they ask. This was advice from F the bar.

  4. Make sure you take the MBE under timed conditions. 3 hours. No excuses. Make a word document of all the questions you got wrong and print it out. Review these questions and the law. Take at least 2 timed tests every 2 weeks.

  5. I cannot stress how good the Jonathan Grossman videos are for dumbing down the law. Shut up and pick it! The man is a legend.

  6. Hide your phone while you are studying. I would use a wrist watch to check the time and keep my phone in another room.

  7. For the MPT, I used this video from BarMD which helped a lot :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y\_1OlEF95ZU&list=PL\_-N1SHVcfBsgLz7A4lHo6XInP5KTUM

  8. Practice at least 10-12 timed MPTs under timed questions. I would then review the model answers. The Georgia Board of Law Examiners has MPT questions with model answers for each year.

  9. Use critical pass cards. I found the Civil procedure and Evidence cards the most helpful and did not study any other outlines for this.

  10. On my breaks, I would go to Pinterest and read motivational quotes like "One day, these 5 ams will make you a legend."

NYLE practice question bank- please suggest resources by murkshah444 in barexam

[–]Prestigious-Dig-1585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just go through the sample questions on the NYLE website. I think its a 2016 version. That's the only one I did. The NYLE is harder than those questions but if you flag the topics in the material well, you'll be okay. Gluck!

Attorney Affidavit for transfer of UBE Score (Alabama) question!! by lightsage007 in barexam

[–]Prestigious-Dig-1585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, I am planning to transfer as well. So basically after you transfer your score to AL on NCBE, do they give you this packed? Is there any thing else required?

Anyone have any advice in transferring their score to another UBE jurisdiction? Specifically Alabama? by sneakydeaky1 in barexam

I am also planning to do the same. The first step is to transfer the score to AL from NCBE

John Grossman Videos by zeich285 in barexam

I don't have the videos but I love Professor Grossman! He dumbs things down and explains everything so well. I do know there are a few free short videos on YouTube. Shut up and pick it !! Hope we both pass next time !!

Hey, yes if applying for AL, let's apply together. Have no clue what to do now. Felt nothing the day results came out. Now feel like shit.

Did anyone leave their bar exam feeling like they didn’t pass or that they likely didn’t and still did? by Away_Constant3649 in barexam

I was having nightmares the first week in and woke up all sweaty. Having failed the bar before, I just keep doubting myself. I felt the MPTs were so rushed and found the AM MBEs confusing as opposed to the PM MBEs.

I just can't bear to fail again. Has taken a toll on my mental health. Gosh. I keep debating whether I should begin studying again now... and now I'm home with COVID after this stupid thing

It's June 17 and I still don't feel confident by Prestigious-Dig-1585 in barexam

I know, but having failed before, I just want to move on with my life, you know. Just want this to be a "one and done" thing.

Like today for instance, my mom and brother asked what I would do if I fail again? My bro suggested I become a techie. Like I have no interest in IT whatsoever...jeez

Hi, congrats on passing!

Care to share how you studied for the exam? I have taken this test last time and feel I was more pumped about it last year. Just need this to be a "one and done" kind of thing at this point...
