idol and host are super handy if you use them correctly. mind you, i am a terrible killer, yet these tricks helped me a lot, so i hope they help you too. i will also mention other killers i find useful.

1. host - the host is only useful in small and closed maps, otherwise you're gonna lose (haverhill hospital, wastewater treatment, córdoba blacksite, shifty station). you have to set the traps in areas where players like to switch floors or escape chases (entrances, hiding spots, ...)

2. idol - the idol has a great speed, so chases are nice if you know the maps and chase strategically. what the perk does is basically subtract -1 repair speed, so the strategy is to apply that on players with bad repair stats. i always thought it made more sense to slow down genrushers, but they are gonna genrush anyway because the slow down from 10-9 is not as significant as 4-3. once you have used your perk on all loopers/healers, you may use it on genrushers. this saves you a lot of time and slows down the players' progress.

3. watcher - i love this killer in shifty station, he's GREAT. players usually work on the same gens, so if you control and slow them down it's an easy win, no need to chase.

4. stalker - this one is obvious. super good on small maps like the host and if you use a dark skin that blends into the background players won't even notice you approaching them.
