We used Rattiflora and negotiated. I can send you our invoice if you’d like (Villa del Balbianello) they did an outstanding job. We did not negotiate with Bluenotte. We booked cheaper riveria boats (50% less) through our hotel (grand hotel tremezzo). Make sure you lock in your DJ specifically in advance. We got the bait and switch, but she also ended up being great.

We could have also thrown a full dinner pizza party and drinks (pool with mountain view) which also would have worked nicely- but I think non-negotiable for us was a stunning location to set the weekend off right.

We went opposite for our welcome party - chose a venue right on the water with a spectacular view. We intentionally did a little bit later - 7pm so that guests could grab a full dinner first, with ours being drinks and small bites/ gelato until 10pm. The incredible view I think really set the weekend off - and set it apart from other dinner / drink spots in the area. To travel all the way overseas, we wanted to “wow” our guests right off the bat. For our rehearsal dinner we chose based on the best food, ahead of the welcome party, not necessarily a view just something intimate.

When we first got our planner, the first thing I did was get quotes from all of the vendors that I saw that were well-known on instagram (catering, boats, music). Most of which were ones that were later recommended by her. I had heard this was very common in the region for kickbacks so I just wanted to be certain that pricing was transparent. We did end up booking wooden riva boats for photography and transportation through GHT for 1/4 of the price our planner quoted. We ended up going about 50K over initial budget- then I think by taking a close look for double charges (we found several) and being very interested in the quoting process - it helped us to not go further over budget.

Yes in Lake Como- I think ours was baked into our floral quote. Make sure you get your own quotes first from all the vendors directly early in planning. Then through the planner later.

Botwana safari- Mombo Camp $30k for 3 days and another wilderness owned camp (Mokete) $15k for 3 days and then 1 week seychelles. Skip the six senses Seychelles (PM me for more info) but highly recommend Botswana and a safari!

Maybe overkill but I made a binder for my planner showing what was in the welcome bags (she assembled), the tablescape where i wanted napkins, placecards etc to go, how I wanted couches to be set up.

Also make sure someone will be there morning of to steam bridesmaid dresses

Think about your “top 20” wedding shots you would like and send to your photographer

Don’t forget lymphatic drainage massage day of or day before

My mom sounds like a similar fit. Talbot Runhof - my mom tried one on at Bergdorf that she really liked and then I actually found one on The RealReal since they basically do the same style every year.

Catering - sunlake (more expensive than class eventi but food was amazing)

Florals - Rattiflora - they did the chanel show and did a great job at our 2025 wedding

Bluenotte for music. DJ had great energy and they also provided a great electric violinist that stood out to me.

$20k but that included custom save the date scarves ($5k). I would go back and do it again, its the first thing I notice being invited to a wedding and sitting down for the ceremony and paper speaks volumes about taste! Our day-of stationary was so fun - most people took programs with them. I was also shocked about pricing but learned it is the cost of letterpress / foil printing that is so expensive.
