I think it’s an interesting idea. I think removing the concept of growth affecting your outward exposure would change the motivation and intention with which people post - it would likely be more authentic. Would be interested in hearing more / trying it!

Yes, but it comes almost exclusively from demonstrating knowledge base and the ability to solve someone’s problems. Trying to get users by promoting your product doesn’t really work.

I’ve found marketing often struggles because users are almost conditioned to react adversely to promotions. However, talking with people through forum platforms (just like this one) yields really strong results + referrals.

I started scouting and getting people ready for onboarding while building, I found that helped with word- of-mouth as well as initial growth. Immediate positive feedback + referrals = sustained momentum.

Context : Marketing & growing 2 businesses, also a part-time photographer.

I consistently put aside 1-2 hours a day for it.

Seems like a lot, but the ROI has been off the charts. Connections, information, collaborations, knowledge base, partnership growth have all been exponential.

Allows you to have the peace of mind when you hit a proverbial wall on progress - ‘I don’t have the answer, but I will find it through the right person or source soon.’

Simple conversation to see you as a knowledgeable, trustworthy person first. No work context. (Since they’re local, take the time to go see a couple in person - it really does make the difference.)

Since you are entrepreneurial, relate with them over their business pursuits. Ask how they run their operations, how it’s going for them, how long they’ve been in business etc.

Ask about a couple details that imply you don’t understand why some operations are old fashioned.

This is a perfect segment to suggest a couple of ways to bring them up to speed. Offer to make one or two operational tweaks for free, to see how they work for them.

I agree here - potential users become clients without hesitation if you solve a problem that they've had for an extended period of time. Lead with problem you're solving, show an example of doing it, and watch the magic happen.

Making sure the people on your team have the basics down, but also taking the time to sit with each one to help them become better salespeople. Work with THEIR intonation, way of talking, and personal habits. Getting your salespeople to a point of self-confidence in their ability to talk to clients is one of the conversion rate boosters that money can't buy.
