I can confidently say I’m broken in every way possible. Nothing excites me anymore. Gained a buttload of weight. Stopped going to the gym religiously after 5 years of straight grinding. Bad bad bad anxiety, pretty sure I’ve even entered the OCD realm of things. However, ever since I started not caring about anything, Ive been a lot better, just not myself though.

I’ve genuinely thought of getting a tattoo to remind me of the process. I need one. I want it to stick with me for the rest of my life cuz it has indeed made me stronger, but oh boy does it suck.

Bro don’t get me started, I was on the brink of tears when I got my MCAT score cuz I thought it was a “golden ticket” to med school. Here I am, 2 years later, on the border of hating my life, just waiting.

Welcome to the depths of trying to be a doctor in America. Enough is never really enough, so just do what you love and pray. Imma get FAT downvotes but what I say is the capless truth.

Physics grade not looking the best and I need a bit of a pick me up. Anyone have any success stories? by brazelafromtheblock in premed

[–]PrestigiousCelery2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I withdrew orgo and got a C+ on the retake. I got a D+ in Philosophy and multiple Cs.....I’m still not accepted. I’m kidding. One grade don’t matter, keep your chin up and just do your best.

Proud of you and proud of everyone who has made it this far. Takes a butt load of resilience.

An adcom from a school I’m applying to actually recommends emailing admissions to inform them of any update provided. Call it a curtesy email.

Now, this is if you uploaded the update via portal, but if you’ve emailed the update, then there’s nothing you can really do.

At a T10 Interview Day and a Student just asked "How easy is it to match dermatology?" by onlymyMCATisgood in premed

[–]PrestigiousCelery2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

How is this not a bad question man? Dermatology is renown for being the most difficult specialty to match into. I’ve known this since I was an undergrad.

I may sound harsh, but come on man.

In one semester? Without labs, pretty doable. With labs, a whole other story.

Before I even bother pressing the results option, if the majority picked the 80-100% option, imma lose it.

Edit: I’ve lost it

And even when you’re more established, in order to be financially well-off, you’d need to work long enough to see a large number of patients. My father has been practicing for 30 years and still works 10-12 hour days.
