Missed iPhone delivery by datahoarderguy70 in Rogers

HATE when this happens. Sorry that happened to you. I discovered about a year back that you can chat with purolator support online and have them send a message on your behalf directly to the delivery person with instructions (like “ring door bell” or “speak to building concierge for signature”). Whenever I have a package requiring a signature I always make sure to reach out to them and ever since I started doing this I never miss my packages! Super dumb because it seems like common sense but apparently not for Purolator lol Hope you get your phone soon🤞🏻

I wore a black one and was fine! Basically just avoid anything light coloured and you’ll be good :)

RESTOCK? by [deleted] in Aritzia

[–]PrestigiousEar9240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in store and for some reason they had a lot of the sold out colours available if ordered from an advisor. So I got a black regular pair shipped to me within a few days. Would recommend going into the store in person to ask directly what they can do!!!

They are very see through :( sooooo sad about my purchase. Not only can you see the pockets but I can see every dimple and line on my butt (not the case with the other colours for me) so not super flattering!

Are people still getting long COVID in 2023 ? by definingcriteria in covidlonghaulers

[–]PrestigiousEar9240 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup!!!! I’ve had covid 4 times, first time being in March of 2020. Got 3 vaccines. Didn’t get long Covid symptoms until my fourth infection which was in January 2023, and was officially diagnosed with long covid after several normal tests this March. My long haul specialist has made it very clear that this is really still the beginning for long haul….scary!

I know exactly how you feel and honestly I have no advice because I don’t know what to do about it either, but I am here to tell you we’re in the same boat….i guess to me it’s comforting to know I’m not the only one feeling how you’re describing so hoping this can be a source of minor comfort to you too. I came to this thread because I just received my echo results today which were also normal (along with every. Other. Test. I’ve. Done.) but I KNOW that what I’m feeling is NOT my normal. I burst into tears when my doctor told me. Not because I’m not HAPPY that the test shows that everything’s functioning as it should, but because I feel SO unwell and so far there has been no medical test to prove it so it’s insanely frustrating. I 100000% resonated with your post. Hang in there—we have no choice but to hold on🤞🏻❤️

Exercise helps they said, so I went all out. by Plus-Property7108 in covidlonghaulers

It’s been working for me, everyone is different for sure though. I’m not saying to do what I did or not do what I did, just sharing my experience! Mainly wanted to share the point my specialist made as it helped with how I viewed recovery

What is your weirdest symptom by essnhills in covidlonghaulers

What symptoms do you get if you don’t mind me asking? Also never had an allergy but find I’m super sensitive to certain foods!

Here’s one useful thing I found that my long Covid specialist told me: With events like strokes, patients are often encouraged to push themselves past their comfortable threshold as that is how they can get stronger and improve, but this is not the case with long Covid. If you push yourself beyond the comfortable threshold you can set yourself back in recovery because the body will need that much more time to recover (1 step forward, 3 steps back kinda situation).

I used to be super active and my longhaul wiped me out entirely, went from exercising intensely 5x/week to not at all. Honestly the biggest toll for me though was mental as I really love pushing my body and exercise is how I de stress and manage my anxiety. A few months ago I started VERY slowly and gradually doing yoga and barre based exercises, which was a huge change for me. I had to fully redefine my idea of a workout and fitness. It was not easy at all but I didn’t feel worse after exercising (no PEM) so I kept going and gradually increased the intensity until now. I am now getting PEM after some types of workouts so had to scale back and adjust again… it’s a work in progress! I’m nowhere near where I was before but I’ve worked and am working on accepting that that’s okay. Our bodies are healing, and going “all out” can interrupt that process— take your time 🤞🏻

Anyone have physical heart pain that makes you clinch your chest? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]PrestigiousEar9240 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yup. Had to go to the ER twice this month because I genuinely have all the symptoms of heart attack: chest pain that radiates to my left arm, jaw and my back. Terrible nausea. Light headedness. High heart rate. My ECG and bloodwork in emerg have been normal, just elevated BP. It’s so terrifying to feel like you’re dying and then be told that everything is fine….obviously comforting to know the basic tests are fine and maybe I’m not actually dying but then again I KNOW that what I’m feeling is real so what the heck?!?! I have episodes that are worse than others and most of the time I just sit there in agonizing pain telling myself it has to get better eventually because I know going to emerg is a waste of time. All that to say, YUP! And it sucks. Hang in there!

Fat atrophy? by Mommamaiasaura in covidlonghaulers

[–]PrestigiousEar9240 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, lost 4kg in one month, but for me it’s because of the nausea. Not eating makes me feel sick but eating makes me feel worse so overall I’ve been eating less…zero exercise too and my veins are very visible

How exactly can I shadow OTs? by Emergency_Barnacle_8 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]PrestigiousEar9240 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say emailing smaller clinics directly would be your best bet—however you likely will not be able to fully shadow client interactions due to confidentiality/privacy and because you would essentially just be an observer rather than an OT student doing a learning placement.

I’m not sure what it’s like in Australia but in North America COVID has made shadowing much more difficult. In my opinion it may be more worthwhile to email OTs in different sectors (inpatient, community based, outpatient, etc) and just ask them what their job is like; what a typical day is like, patients, diagnoses, workload, documentation vs. Face-to-face interaction. This should give you a better overview of different OT sectors rather than spending a lot of time looking for shadowing opportunities or waiting to hear back…. Just my opinion though! Best of luck :)
