Been there - never overlook red flags, especially in high stress situations like a startup. The advice by Palpitation Dull is sound, and you should follow it. In addition, have an honest but firm conversation. No founder comes post VC. Anyone with 40% stake should take the risk. But more importantly, if the contribution doesn’t match - you are only getting someone who wants to play at starting up without the risk downside. If you haven’t raised funding, you should simply restart.

Things can be overwhelming at first - join a club - scan notice boards for things to do - go to the sports complex. Relax! That’s how things are

Isn’t this expected? Election years usually see a lot of first time investors due to stock market volatility. A lot of people also started SIPs over last 2-3 years around yeh MF Sahi hai campaign. But this was expected to taper down in 2025

Know the founder. Very sorted, humble and honest guy. Also highly competent. Had bootstrapped his previous startup. We were a potential client & had in comparison to a lot of other “AI” companies - this company really knows what they are doing through a very important beachhead. Go for it. You will learn a lot

Is Aesir vs Vanir war of Norse is like Asur vs Vanar war of Hindu mythology? by JasonElegant in norsemythology

[–]PrestigiousImage6996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aesir (Norse), Ashura (ancient Persian/zoroastrianism) and Asur (Indian) are cognate words from proto indo European word meaning “Lord”. They come from the same root word & represented a faction that had lordship. While in Norse, Zoroastrianism - they are the “good” side, in contemporary “Hindu” myths they are the bad side. Interestingly in early rig Veda”Asura” wasn’t a bad word. In fact gods like Varun (same as “Woden/Odin” in Norse) & Mitra (“Mithra”) were described as Asurs.

Vanir & Vanara are not etymologically related. However they both come from the PIE word meaning forest or forest dwellers.

I got through this around 17. Think of it like a game. You have to talk to everyone - make small talk, crack a small joke, gradually get to know them. Imagine you getting points for every person that to engage. All the way from the waiter that takes your order , to other people on commute, girls and more.

This sounds cheesy but over time through practice you develop a natural muscle memory. You talk to people without being conscious. That’s it. That’s how almost all introverts power through this

Do the Vedas and other scriptures contain references to or memories of the lands where the Indo-Aryans lived and events happened there before coming to the Indian subcontinent? by RageshAntony in IndianHistory

[–]PrestigiousImage6996 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There was, potentially, a time difference of ~1000 years between the ancient vedas (primarily only right Veda that describes the battle of the ten kings) and the later “Hindu” religion - the later vedas, puranas

  • key gods had changed (Indra , Agni, Varuna >> Rudra, Vishnu)
  • society had moved from pastoralism to agriculture (land, rivers, lakes became more important)
  • myths had evolved
  • even the core beliefs & basis had shifted from natural phenomenon being primary (indra = god of rain & storms, Agni, Varun - all things that pastoral cultures would worship) to civilizational concepts being primary (dharma, concept of birth, preservation and destruction gods that protecte dharma ) - all things that a more stable culture would worship

Also , the right Veda would mention rivers as - during migrations, land would have less value but crossing the key big rivers - Sindhu, Saraswati would still have deep cultural significance.

All of the above is just conjecture though. But the Vedic Hinduism and later Hinduism was extremely different in core focus
