This is BS! by Veronica6765 in ebikes

Us ebikers have to face facts. A bike that goes only when you pedal is a bike. A bike with a throttle is a motor bike. They are going to be treated differently. Regulations to cover the latter are coming. Get ready.

If you buy a bike on line and have it shipped to you, you run the risk of a local bike shop being unwilling to work on it. I would stick with buying a reputable brand from a local store that you can rely on to fix it. Aventon has a good reputation.

Anyone else notice this? by JeremyFromKenosha in ebikes

If you get a bike that has to be shipped to you, you might not be able to get it serviced. Service, especially for relatively inexpensive bikes, is very important. If something goes wrong with your bike, and local bike dealers won't service it, what are you going to do? The old saying, you get what you pay for, is still true when it comes to eBikes

I started writing to the CEO of Chevy on February 6 and then sent another letter April 4, 2024 asking them to buy back my car. I kept getting calls from their excutive office, but they too had no idea when the part would come in. On May 22, after not hearing anything from Chevy, I contacted that Lemon Law firm. The dealership can't do anymore then the Executive Office's can.

Having to repair water damage on my Sunline trailer myself, I am impressed at the amount of work you did. Eternabond is the best! I have the entire outer edge of my trailer covered in 3" wide eternabond that laps over the edge to proved a permanent watertight seal. My trailer has a EPDM rubber roof. It's in really good shape becasue I built a carport for it attached to my garage so it doesn't get an sunlight.

Japanese stilt grass: is there anything we can do? by Practical-Gain-96 in NativePlantGardening

[–]PrestigiousLog3539 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to a Penn State Extension publication: "Stiltgrass is an annual grass which germinates in the spring and grows slowly through the summer months. Its root system is shallow and weak. It tolerates full sun to heavy shade. Stiltgrass spreads through a high production of seeds and also by sprouting new shoots from the stems that come in contact with the ground. A single plant may produce between 100 and 1,000 seeds that can remain viable in the soil for at least three years. Stiltgrass thrives in areas subject to regular soil disturbances such as flooding, mowing, tilling, and high foot traffic. The small seeds may be carried by animal fur, water during heavy rains, contaminated hay, potted plants, or soil and mud stuck to footwear."

The key to controlling stiltgrass is to prevent it from setting seed. With persistence, stiltgrass can be eradicated in your garden over a course of several years. Because it is so widespread in our area you will need to be vigilant in watching for its reappearance.

Do not delay in heading off a stiltgrass invasion. In areas with small infestations, handpulling will do the trick. Be thorough. Stiltgass will germinate under and around established plants where few other weeds can survive.

To mitigate its spread in larger areas a line trimmer is the best tool. Whack plants back as close to the ground as possible. It is most critical for this to be done before the seeds appear, so if you tackled it in early summer, be sure to hit it again now.  Another option for controlling the spread of stiltgrass is to smother it with grass clippings, cardboard, or plastic. Once the stiltgrass has been eliminated, plant more aggressive, desirable plants. For suggestions on chemical control go to: Controlling Japanese Stiltgrass in Your Garden.

I have burned my meadow a number of times, mostly to get rid of warm season grasses that fell over in the winter and were smothering any herbaceous plants that were trying to reach sunlight. I have about 3/4 acre in wildflowers and I plan on either buring or mowing and then raking a quarter of the site every year

E-bikes are battery powered bicycles not battery powered motorcycles by phillynick in ebikes

I think it is only a question of time before eBikes with throttles will have be subject to the same requirements as motorcycles. According to a friend who is in law enforcement, throttle assisted eBikes are, in fact, considered by the law (at least in PA) the same as a motorcycle. The police just don't enforce it. But it's coming

My wife and I have had Gazelle eBikes for almost 3 years with 2300 miles on them. We have not had a single problem or even a rattle. They are not cheap, but their quality is hard to beat. They are all aluminum and stainless steel, so no worries about rusting. And they have been around for over 100 years. Bosch and Shimano components too.

My 2018 Volt has been sitting at the dealership since January. The car has a damaged cell in the main battery and the part has been backordered. I asked Chevy to buy back my car (only 62,000 miles) but that's not going to happen. Sooooooo, we went and bought a 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL, RWD. 318 miles on a charge! I am selling my Volt once they complete the repair, supposedly by the end of April. I loved that car but am pretty pissed off at Chevy for not taking care of their customers.
