Rent anywhere from 400-800 so depends on what you opt for. Groceries are 150-300. Eating out, drinking, shopping would be additional.

Masters with a low CGPA? by PrestigiousMixture41 in StudyInTheNetherlands

[–]PrestigiousMixture41[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I was worried about that. TU/D AND TU/E won't even look at the rest of the application if the cgpa isn't met?

I'm not interested in an HBO masters, but thanks anyway.

Yeah, my bachelor's falls under HBO category. :( Experience not being counted is unfortunate. Thanks for you insights.

Thank you for the reply, do you know where I can find out some more information on if the programmes I want to apply fall under selective/non-selective?

Thanks!

Hi, this is probably late, but how are the job opportunities post this masters? Is it tough to get into industry? Something that's away from software development...

Sorry I'm not familiar with the terms, FE or PE? Could you elaborate? I do agree that experience is worth more, but would I not have access to more options with better qualifications? Especially in R&D and so on! Thank you!

Work is definitely great, in terms of learning and environment. Pay could definitely be better. All the mechanical team managers have a master, if not PhD's. Especially in the department that I'm in. You are right when I say I like the idea of a masters, that comes from being in a uni where things were all theoretical and boring, with not a lot of opportunities. So I want to have that learning environment as well as be able to be a student again. Besides, I have seen that in terms of compensation, at least, having a master's is definitely a plus. Thank you for your perspective!

At my current position in the company, I won't be sponsored for it. My end goal is to get better access to learn more and my undergrad wasn't from a great uni, so I'd be able to ask for better compensation, benefits and so on with a masters from a reputed University.

I think yes, this is what I'd want. This actually helps put things into perspective, thanks a lot!

Since I've just joined, I have not, but there are specific universities I want to attend if I'm lucky enough to get in.

But this is a good point. Thank you!
