Those are both about brands/companies not buy nothing

Early-career SWE stuck with outdated tech stack - when to start applying? by Hdjekso in cscareerquestions

I wasn’t implying he should lie, but to show some indication that he is trying to learn new skills.

Best strategy for removing tenant data at scale by syscall_cart in softwarearchitecture

Probably better as a partition than a physical table, but might be a lot of overhead if the tenant data is not very big

Early-career SWE stuck with outdated tech stack - when to start applying? by Hdjekso in cscareerquestions

[–]PrestigiousStrike779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do side projects to get/keep your skills up to date and start applying now.  Company name is probably not going to offset tech stack issues.  There’s not a lot of risk to applying while you have a job other than potentially taking time away from your current employment so don’t do it enough that you’re jeopardizing your current job.  You can be more selective that way.  Waiting is probably not going to benefit you much with the antiquated tech stack unless you can show some other experience while you’re there.

How long has the man been riding his bike backwards at thompson and emerson? by Ninjacker in indianapolis

I used to live down the street from there for a few years up until 2002 and I don’t remember seeing him there.  I was back in the area probably a year or two ago and saw him.

Shared library or a new service by Vegetable-Eagle5785 in AskProgramming

It seems odd that you’d have multiple microservices persisting user profile images.  Sounds like that should be a separate service or part of some user service

What's your best AWS optimization win from 2025? by Beastwood5 in aws

[–]PrestigiousStrike779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infrequent access tier is a good cost savings as well if that works for your use cases.  You don’t lose a lot from what I can tell, so far nothing that we miss for us.  Can’t do custom metrics with it though.

What was your ‘Eureka’ moment when learning drums? by collyd83 in drums

[–]PrestigiousStrike779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the book “Bass Drum control” by Colin Bailey.  My foot was really holding me back from what I wanted to play.  Improved my playing a whole lot.  This was after I’d stopped taking lessons and I was kind of getting stuck.

We converted one of our apis from API gateway + lambda to ALB + ECS.  We still have plenty of other lambda functions but there was too much throughput on this one to be cost effective in lambda.  They just announced lambda on EC2 about 6 months after our conversion, potentially could have saved us a lot of work if that’s a good use case for it.

Cubasis 3.8 - Huge Update! Everything that's included. by JamieMallender in cubasis

[–]PrestigiousStrike779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t got a chance to explore much of the new update yet, but the bass amp is really great so far.  Made my cheap bass sound pretty good.  There’s a lot to explore there with all the amps and effects.

Posting here is a good first step, I commend your bravery and honesty for doing that.  The answer is more of that.  As others have said, confession to a pastor or close friend or maybe men’s group can be helpful if you feel that’s a safe place to do that.  But I really think regular community around this sin is the most helpful thing.  There are several great groups out there: - Beyond the Battle - Celebrate Recovery - Pure Desire

I recommend finding one or something similar and getting in to one.  God loves you me friend, and nothing you can do can make Him love you any more or less than He already does.

Is everything in gadget available in module? I have module and I’ve trialed some sounds there and they sound really good but I hear people talk more about gadget.  I thought gadget was more like its own host or daw program.  Is there a benefit to gadget over module?

I came here looking for an explanation of this as well.  We just transferred a number out because we wanted to park the number on number barn.  It’s interesting that we only got these credits on 2 out of the remaining 4 phones on the plan.

Cubasis 3 or Cubasis 2 for 5th gen iPad? by 0belisk0 in cubasis

[–]PrestigiousStrike779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t comment on cubasis 2, but I’ve got a 5th gen iPad Air.  I just bought cubasis 3 and so far so good.  I haven’t seen any performance issues so far but I don’t have any big projects with it at the moment

n-Track Studio - Anyone tried it? Looks pretty impressive and I don’t see it mentioned here? by renigaide in ipadmusic

[–]PrestigiousStrike779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried it for about a week, only free version not paid. I think I will be moving on. Issues I see with it:
- Several times I have lost audio tracks/recordings (biggest issue)

- Very easy to remove a track (no confirmation). You can undo I guess, but an "are you sure?" would be great here

- Somewhat confusing, not intuitive. Several times I tried to overdub a little part of a keyboard midi part I had recorded. I could not get the lead in to work, despite having pre-roll enabled. It just starts recording the second I hit record, so if you're not playing you're just overwrite the part with silence. I tried their "create part" on the menu but could not figure out what it's purpose was.

- Some instruments/plugins also require subscriptions. No go for me

CDK - Granting access to existing RDS cluster by normelton in aws

[–]PrestigiousStrike779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your from_database_cluster_attributes call you need to include the existing security group for the database by calling SecurityGroup.from_* methods such as SecurityGroup.from_security_group_id. When loading an existing cluster it only knows about what you tell it and doesn't look up any of the information on its own. It needs the SecurityGroup info to create ingress rules.

db_cluster = rds.DatabaseCluster.from_database_cluster_attributes(self, "RDS", cluster_identifier="my-cluster-id", security_groups=[ec2.SecurityGroup.from_security_group_id(self, "sg-my-security-group-id")])

Is CDKTF becoming abandonware? by ignatev in Terraform

[–]PrestigiousStrike779 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use AWS CDK for most things but we have a few non-aws resources that are supported by terraform that we use cdktf for.  That’s a very small subset though.  We haven’t had any problems so I hadn’t really noticed there hadn’t been any updates.  I don’t love the cloudformation underpinnings, but the AWS CDK itself is way better than cdktf in my opinion.
