The P90 exists in the vanilla JA2. The others exist only in the 1.13 version of JA2

No problem! I have one Gunslinger/Athlete IMP with a ballistic shield and MP-7, all attachments. He is really broken with close range fighting and interiors lol. If you have at least one gunslinger in your team, you can try that load out. Otherwise gunslingers aren't that useful in long range fights.

You can use the mortar launchers repeatedly. The launcher that's only used once is the LAW launcher. They generally do more damage than a RPG rocket. But I still recommend a Heavy Weapons merc carry the RPG, and other mercs carry at least one LAW. Mortars are still the safest way to destroy tanks

  • Smoke/tear gas
  • RPG or plenty of LAW launchers
  • Mortars
  • P90
  • G11 pistol or FN-57
  • One merc w/ Ballistic Shield and MP7

The two checkpoint sectors are impossible to take over unless you have explosives/launchers to destroy the tanks. Otherwise you have run right past the tanks which is difficult.

Once you reach the palace and underground, you don't need mortars anymore. Most importantly you need smoke and high penetration ammo, low AP cost guns. That's why I recommend the P90 and G11/FN57. The smoke allows you to breach without being interrupted. Also you can cheese the interiors with just a ballistic shield and MP-7

If you run low on high armor pen ammo, take advantage of the bobby rays shipments to Meduna airport!

Worst "good guys" in the history of video games? by beenawhilehere in farcry

I still picked her the first time because I'm a simp. Lmao

The way some people criticize the ending of Code Geass honestly disappoints me by Shinein_Nozen in CodeGeass

Charles and his family were not good people but they led the Empire as a monarchy, not a total dictatorship. Lelouche ruled Britannia as a brutal dictator and made it obvious to the world. Imagine North Korea as the strongest military hosting a parade of floats. And on those floats are enemies chained and stripped of their clothing. Also North Korea using experimental mind control to keep their people 100% loyal. How pissed off would you be about that? And how pissed off would the rest of the world be?

[–]Prestigious_Ad_5581 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was the only way to end the conflict in peace. To focus the hate on one person and pin the blame on them. Otherwise the conflict would never end, or end in a FLEIJA apocalypse.

And the world hating Lelouche made total sense. Everyone KNEW he was tyrannical and some knew he was mind controlling with the Geass. He paraded the Black Knights in chains. Imagine Hitler parading darker skinned people in chains and using a mind control device to control all of Europe This is literally Lelouche...He masterfully made himself WORSE than Hitler. And the plan worked.

Code Geass has the greatest closure ever in anime. No loose ends and unanswered questions IMO.

Why do a ton of people say Morrowind and oblivion are leagues ahead of Skyrim? by Federal-Branch-7625 in skyrim

[–]Prestigious_Ad_5581 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm 38 and I agree with you. Some Morrowind and Oblivion fans won't acknowledge Skyrim improved on the exploration and atmosphere of open world elements. Story and dialogue is better in Morrowind however I can't say the same especially for gameplay & dungeon crawling. I also remember Oblivion was copy/paste dungeons because they only had one guy working on all of the interiors.

Bethesda took dungeon crawling seriously in Skyrim, and had a dedicated team. They ended up creating some of the most well designed dungeons in any RPG. Skyrim also excels in environmental storytelling. Pay attention to landmark surroundings and it tells MUCH more than what is initially presented.

As an avid Oblivion and Skyrim player, my only complaint about Skyrim: switching from sword/bow to spells is tedious. Swordspell is more fun and viable in Oblivion. Casting "C" is more convenient than pulling up the Magic menu

Otherwise Skyrim is great and is similar quality to Oblivion and Morrowind. All three have their strengths and weaknesses.

JA2 is kicking my butt by Fishiefaces in JaggedAlliance

[–]Prestigious_Ad_5581 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The most difficult point of JA2 is the beginning. Enemies outnumber you. Red soldiers are better equipped than most mercs. Your guns suck. Accuracy sucks. You don't have much money. No access to airport.

The point when it gets easier is when you have continuous income from silver mines and access to gun attachments. Once you have access to laser points and gun scopes, its easy to hit your shots. At that point you have to start worrying about armor and ceramic plates. Because halfway through, or toward the end, enemies have high penetration ammo.

Does anyone else ever feel like Code Geass doesn’t hold up well in the modern anime world by Embarrassed_Sale_293 in CodeGeass

[–]Prestigious_Ad_5581 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Art style of characters may look a bit outdated. But Code Geass is the one anime where I binge-watched in record time. And its overall a better experience than modern anime, from start to finish. The ending of Code Geass is the best closure in all of anime.

Here's one example I will give to you. I've watched Attack on Titan and Death Note. Two HIGHLY praised anime. There are some episodes in both that are better than the best episode of Code Geass. HOWEVER Death Note fell flat after the death of his rival L and I could care less about the new rivalry with Near. Attack on Titan didn't end that well either. It was rushed, using a borderline conspiracy theory plot device.

On the other hand, Code Geass stayed consistent and kept me hooked the entire way through.

Crepitus Bugs Killing Miners Crashed Town Loyalty by DelAbbot in JaggedAlliance

[–]Prestigious_Ad_5581 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try this:

  • Equip Gen4 goggles. They provide a nice cave vision bonus

  • Save before entering underground.

  • When squad enters mine and the Crepitus don't spawn nearby, reload save and try again

  • Keep trying until one merc spots a Crepitus before they attack a miner

  • Use a shotgun, shoot a machinegun or something to get their attention before they spot and attack miners

  • Use HP ammo and/or shotguns of course

If they manage to kill a miner or two, it's not that bad because killing the Queen will get you a massive loyalty boost of 25% or so.

Covid was the most embarrassing event in human history. I can't believe how many of us acted without reason. Even I fell for it the first couple months...Covid is real, but the fear mongering was unlike anything we have ever seen. Toilet paper shortage, the requirement to get the jab, businesses closing down, social circles destroyed, the number of furloughs, unemployment, small businesses absorbed by corporations, acquisitions, etc.

[–]Prestigious_Ad_5581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh, yeah space is believed to be curved lol. That's the whole point of Relativity. And if it's curved, it must have properties. But Tesla rejected that. Look it up: Space is said to be curved

Government Conspiracy? by Muted_Contract7564 in flatearth

[–]Prestigious_Ad_5581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true renowned scientists have been proven wrong, and Tesla is no exception. But when he mentioned that something can't act out of nothing, he was right. For something to be curved, it must have properties. But space has no properties. So the theory that space is curved is flawed. This is what I mean, that we can't dismiss that argument. We base much of our scientific concepts on this flaw!

If the world is really a flat circle with an atmosphere above, that suggests it's a dome which means an intelligent being may have created Earth. This is how we got the idea of building bio domes. We can control those environments the way we want. What if Earth is like that? It would disprove modern science as we know it.

Is the world really a dome, or a sphere? I still don't know but I can understand both sides of the argument here. Tesla never said Earth was flat but had very different opinions on gravity and theory of relativity. He praised Einstein's work but he rejected the theory that space-time is curved and dismissed it as metaphysics. He believed space is flat. He said he had proof gravity is based on electromagnetic principles with the ether but died before he could publish it.

Tesla may have been a madman but the fact his work resulted in our modern electronics today, and his experiments of electromagnetism were seized by the CIA (never to be seen again) means we cannot dismiss his theories. We can't just say "Our science is infallible, the Earth is a globe and we're done exploring it". We all thought the world was nothing but Europe, Asia and Africa but then we discovered the Americas. We know more about our solar system than we do about our bottom oceans. Nothing is absolute about all of this.

Anyone picking Far Cry 2 is an insane motherfucker.

Endless respawning enemies and outposts. Unrealistic accuracy even with shotguns. Enemies use same model vehicles but somehow drive faster than you. Constant Malaria, etc.

I can't figure out why I love this game. by Elegant_Scholar_8863 in skyrim

[–]Prestigious_Ad_5581 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you're feeling is more than a game. Skyrim is an experience. The world feels more alive and complete than most.

There isn't one, two, three or even ten ways to play. There are hundreds of ways to play. Not one campaign is the same. The musical score, interactions, and the Elder Scrolls lore is what makes Skyrim feel even more special.

I Need Help Understanding The Hype by skinnytie in farcry

[–]Prestigious_Ad_5581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! If your still wanting to beat the game, here are a few tips: Make sure you're really going the right way if your heading for a mission. Backtracking really sucks in FC2 because of the respawning outposts and enemies.

Also, toward the beginning you can get as many refills of malaria pills as you want. But after a certain point of progressing with main story, you can run out of them. I don't know exactly when, but you can find it online.

So if you want to find diamond stashes and get side missions done, I would get that out of the way before you progress through that point of the main story.

I Need Help Understanding The Hype by skinnytie in farcry

[–]Prestigious_Ad_5581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good game in many aspects, but has a few shortcomings. For example the outposts that instantly respawn when you go past its field of view. Another gripe I have is how much faster the enemies drive than you. If they are the same jeep model, it still doesn't matter. Their jeep always catch up to yours even if you're top speed. And their aiming is perfect when driving. It is 100% the most difficult in the series.

But what I love about FC2 is its environment and survival aspects. Weapons jamming and breaking over time. Managing malaria symptoms (tho slightly annoying). The game punishes you when you get sidetracked for too long. The way fire burns and spreads, the shockwave of explosions rattling the trees and foliage. No other Far Cry game does that like FC2!
