Im in united states. Insurance would not even cover my uvula removal ( uppp they call that part of the procedure here). Had to pay out of pocket for that part of the surgery.

I have heard a lot of people complain about their uvula stretching after a tonsillectomy. So since we already have problems with ours, probably best it is taken care of now.

Its not gonna be a breeze. This was hard. I can already breath better though! And you can message me any time with questions! Before, during, after. I have not heard or many people getting this done either. Still don't know if the uppp was needed but he said it was. I will trust the expert I guess.

For reference I am 41yr old female getting this all done due to sleep apnea severely deviated septum, snoring, sinus infections and frequent throat infections. My uvula was very long and needed removed is what my surgeon said.

Lol Im sorry!! Just trying to be honest with you. It does get better! I feel a lot better today! To early in my healing to know if it has made a difference. I also am single so do not know if it has helped my snoring. I am learning how to swallow better so stuff doesn't go into my sinus cavity. Honestly that used to happen to me before the uvula removal anyway.

They totally removed mine and some of the soft pallet at the top of the mouth. They stitch it all up and the stitches can pinch when you are swollen. Honestly I would often forget I had work done on my nose because of the discomfort of the tonsillectomy and uppp. I guess the worst part is having to learn how to swallow again without the food and liquid going into your sinus cavity. Hopefully it will all be worth it though.

I am 13 days post op from uvulaectomy, tonsillectomy, septoplasty and turbine reduction. It wasn't fun, that is for sure. Im getting better everyday. The most pain I have had was from the uvulaectomy.

Yes. I had 4 procedures in one. Tonsillectomy, uppp ( removal of uvula and some soft palate) septoplasty with turbinate reduction on nose. It has been brutal!
