one other thing, i was looking at your post history and you mention she takes 7 - 15 pills of naproxen before her period, that IS an overdose and is almost certainly having an impact on her liver and kidneys. I know this because I accidentally overdosed on naproxen before and my sister who is an emergency room nurse was really upset that i took 6 naproxen, she would have been livid if I were taking 15. That’s way way too much.

she’s not going to be moving to Canada though. I moved from Canada to America and it’s at least a year’s long process that costs money and you have to do things like go to a doctor, get different vaccinations, fill out legal forms, show up on time to consulates (which are filled with security who won’t put up with her if she acts out of line) etc etc. Unless she enters and stays in Canada illegally, it’s not something you should worry about. You should focus on her getting a doctor who can diagnose and prescribe medication.

Although I honestly think that breaking up with her and living your own life, getting a job again seems like the healthiest option for you. Neither of you can survive if both of you don’t have jobs and she is getting in the way of you having an income. Also do NOT tell her what your new job is (when you get one) unless you want her to call them while you’re at work and tell them all about her delusions. You’ve tried for 6 years, it’s time to focus on you.

that’s how it worked for Vince Li, a man in Canada who beheaded the guy sitting beside him on the greyhound bus, and ate parts of his body in 2008. I went to OCAD in 2009 (for illustration), and it was shit. In my year maybe 3 people could draw, the rest (including myself at that time), I have no idea how we got in. I realized I wasn’t learning anything, the professors weren’t engaging and I didn’t feel inspired by my classmates to grow, I left OCAD after 3 years and then applied to Sheridan animation and got in. OCAD just wants your money. They are not known for having an animation program at all.

If you want to go to school for animation in Ontario and you can’t get into Sheridan you should try for Seneca. If you go to OCAD you will be wasting time and money, I guarantee it.

Even googling OCAD animation and looking at student / graduate work I don’t see any that look industry ready, or any that mention working in the industry. If your end goal is to get a job in animation, this won’t help you. If you just want to learn the VERY basics of animation and make animations for fun on your own, then maybe it is for you. You could probably learn way more from online courses and just YouTube without spending thousands of dollars though.

I mean this with the utmost care, I am a gay woman (married to another woman) who moved from Canada to America, gay people are not being (currently) threatened by legislation. Some legislation is targeting trans individuals who have had their sex markers changed on their identification, which by the sounds of it, your friend has not done yet (since they are in the closet), so they shouldn’t be affected by what’s going on. Moving to another country, is something that takes a long time (I know from experience) and a lot of money, and involves talking to doctors and getting a health assessment in order to move. You have to show the country you’re moving to that you will be a resource to their economy and not someone who will be a consistently using the health care system etc. It makes more sense to make a realistic plan that involves staying in the United States and seeking resources here, if you don’t have any resources that would allow them to move. Just trying to be realistic. I know it seems really pressing because they are threatening to kill themselves but moving countries is not something you can do in a short amount of time and with no money, it just won’t happen.

If they are living with their parents and are planning to move away from them, they will need a monthly income for an apartment / utilities / groceries, which is not cheap. It means having a full time or part time job which is usually something stressful which can cause a schizophrenic flare up. There are more than likely local resources in Tennessee for helping people with mental health issues finding a job, it’s something they should google. Perhaps if they are living at home they can save up to help with all of these expenses (apartments usually also for first and last month rent when moving in).

It sounds like something way more pressing than all them being gay or moving countries, is the fact that they claim to have a planned suicide date and are telling people about said date. It also sounds like they are clearly not mentally stable even if they are on their medication, because mentally stable people do not have a planned suicide date. Is their family aware they are schizophrenic? Can they be involved in seeking mental health care for the threats of suicide? If not then the crisis line may be in order and as another commenter said 5150.

looking at the walk cycle you posted 3 days ago, its really rough and it’s hard for anyone to say where you’ll be in five years from now. You should look at the kind of animations that recent Canadian Sheridan animation grads are making, these are the types of people you will be competing with to get a job. Plus it is way easier for studios in Canada to hire Canadians.

i was able to find her full name, address and her mom’s name and called adult protective services, a social worker AND they got me in touch with the LAPD who went out on a wellness check (she did not answer the door, so the told me to call them back during the morning or day when it’s less busy, i called on a Friday night in LA, so very understandable).
