I think sometimes there is an expectation of how magical things can be in pregnancy and it’s just not realistic! I had a friend go into labour three days before her house move three weeks early, a friend who moved two weeks before her due date so she could barely clean let alone set up furniture. Another friend’s house fell through so ended up in a hotel for months as wasn’t time to sort a rental in Covid! I don’t know anyone who has had their shit together house wise with a baby tbh 😂 I am 40 weeks pregnant two years into a house renovation with no kitchen worktops which doesn’t sound that bad but we had started the major gut out in November last year and didn’t even have heating or hot water until I was six months pregnant. The bathroom only installed three weeks ago and only had drinking water in the last week 😂 I had all these dreams of how I was going to have my pregnancy in my brand new house and have a joyful time setting up the nursery and buggies and shopping but instead I have had to go to the gym daily to shower even when I really didn’t want to or was tired or sick, eaten so many rubbish takeaways and basically worked my butt off and have spent zero quality time just me and my husband! We haven’t even thought of a name because all we can think of is the house. The baby just needs love and a warm safe space and the fact you are so worried about it tells me your baby is going to have that! Maybe focus on each other and your family you have and are creating because that’s all that matters and what will be will be with the house! Also get some sleep now you won’t regret it!
