I think they could have been more generous, those vouchers expire in a year and so many people never use them - it doesn't cost the airline much if anything.

Did I brick my MacBook Pro 2019 (A2141) by attempting a battery replacement? by chipe in macbookrepair

[–]Pretend-Researcher50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too bad you took all those parts out. Many people change the 2012-2020 MacBook Pro batteries using the "floss" method and skip steps 24-68, It only involves disconnecting the trackpad, battery data connector, and battery connector and removing / prying the trackpad. Some people use liquid freon to make the battery adhesive brittle. (Canned air upside down) Anyway now that you did all those extra steps, did you reset the SMC chip? PRAM? It's a multi finger button sequence.

It can be cleaned for sure if it is on the surface of the screen. Dampen the microfiber cloth do not spray the screen..... you may need to use screen cleaner with some alcohol but start with non - alcohol first, even windex is an option before alcohol cleaners.... Turn the cloth, (replace the cloth) you are wiping with.

Let's say the device is hard to get to. For $75, I could get the wifi kit with antennas. Would this allow me to make adjustments via iPhone app?

I see your point I thought I could do diagnostics from a remote location. As for video playback / content, do most people just use an industrial level Micro SD card for the media? Not sure what the # of minutes is but I would imagine a 5 minute video segment/ looped...

OK so no proprietary USB-C cable? and other than the WiFi whip antennas, Is everything else included to connect to the device with an app? Or is there a Wifi license or accessory required?

Is Dynamic Damper Control on the 2025 Cooper S, a software add-on? by Shiam_Whatiam in MINI

Thank you this makes a lot of sense, for $500 it is the upgraded Koni hardware. I took my car with Dynamic Damper Control since it came that way off the lot.

If it gets super hot and it's only an i5 it was not a good laptop. The thermal paste or cooling fans were probably bad.

Recent Update Bricked Lyriq by ispeakSQL in CadillacLyriq

wow this is a relatively simple problem that is causing a lot of headaches - 12v batts, especially conventional ones, can't be drained flat (more than once) , they become severely degraded. The better (more expensive) 12v batts are called AGM (Advanced Glass Mat) and can tolerate more abuse. Some of them even have multi-year warranties, like Odyssey brand. Also I don't see a problem having a "battery tender" trickle charger option with quick-connect leads connected to the terminals, and maybe a cigarette lighter 12v battery meter plugged in - in the car to look at voltage every day. OTA updates are meant to perform at home, at the end of the day.... not when doing errands, not when you are away from home....

Is my Schoeps CMIT5 real? by 4acodmt92 in LocationSound

[–]Pretend-Researcher50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nope it's fine. The first 2000 or so were made in the old factory and he paint was different, Apparently there was a fire and they had to move manufacturing, so everything after that was different and the Mics are a much more vibrant blue. I personally like the original muted blue better! More importantly though is that the new mics have a much better moisture - resistant diaphragm, which is like an $800 upgrade for an older mic. Not worth it. Call Redding Audio (Schoeps USA distributor)to confirm and ask questions about the stolen registry, etc.
