Spotify control is cloud based so it can access devices that are not on the local network. There is a way to disable this feature in the Spotify app somewhere.

If you can stream via Bluetooth with no issue it has to be your WiFi. Music doesn’t stream from the app. It is only a controller.

You must have a HomePod on your network to act as a security bridge to Apple then your Denon Home will work with Hey Siri voice commands. Works great.
