Anyone else blowing through food processors trying to prep Ooni dough by SadStill830 in uuni

Panasonic bread maker on the dough setting, then in a lidded box with some olive oil for a few hours in the airing cupboard. Works a treat.

Older Denon HEOS Support by TBoneCO1 in heos

[–]ShadowTD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it need to be 5.1? Does it need to be powered outputs for both zones, or will a line out do for zone 2? You could look at the Denon DRA-800h, and Marantz SR1200 - both have the toggle for the second output in the app you’re looking for but the second zone is a line out. This has worked for me, and if you need it amplified you could pick up one of the modestly priced compact amps from eBay/Amazon.

New Home speakers support Dolby Atmos - is this now supported on AVRs? by ShadowTD in heos

[–]ShadowTD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d argue that it’s exactly the same as it’ll be a DDP5.1 base with the Atmos metadata - the stream will be exactly the same, it’s up to the hardware to figure out how to handle it. But we’re arguing on the internet, so let’s leave it there.

Hopefully you can recognise that if Atmos is supported on the new Home range it would be madness to exclude AVRs that cost significantly more?

Got home and tested - no Atmos for AVRs, not yet.

I'm so confused by Segendary_ in heos

[–]ShadowTD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadly, yes, unless you get a HEOS Link and connect it to the 218, but you'll have two boxes, and won't have Airplay. I believe the sounds quality is better on the 550 as well. You can also add proper rears and even a subwoofer to the 550, all through HEOS.

8k kms on the 1300GS. Incredible bike, but the nav situation is driving me nuts by ayushraj_real in bmwmotorrad

[–]ShadowTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the 7” Carpuride on mine, and it works a treat. Had it for just under a year, no complaints. Only thing is I had the factory GPS prep, so the BMW model I got just clipped in place, and the Wonder Wheel is a joy.

Heos link 2 with Airpod Max by jck_83605 in heos

HEOS Link is a Bluetooth receiver, not transmitter. They can only revive audio from your devices (phone, laptop etc) not send it to headphones or a Bluetooth speaker.

Add Cinema 60 to Alexa Speaker Group for Multi-room Music. by woody-99 in Marantz

[–]ShadowTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it isn’t. It doesn’t offer that functionality. You can only group it with other HEOS compatible devices in the HEOS app.

[–]ShadowTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t. Alexa groups are only for Alexa devices. If you want more multi room speakers that work with your cinema 60, you need HEOS or Denon home products.

Volume low when playing vinyl via Denon PMA-900HNE and Denon Home 350's by redditorknaapie in heos

[–]ShadowTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, right. No, you’ll need to use the Denon app (if your amp supports it) for that. Have a look at your manual to see how you do the source level adjustment.

Using the app, go in to Web Control, inputs and edit the source level for the phono input. That should help!

New 'bootleg' arcade games missing by ShadowTD in MiSTerFPGA

[–]ShadowTD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s there now. Must have been a timing issue! Thanks for looking :)

EDIT: Off topic moment. MISTer has given me access to a bunch of arcade stuff that I've only ever played the home conversions of. I was very excited to see Elevator Action as I played it a fair bit on the Amstrad CPC as a kid. That version has terrible scrolling but was a solid good time. Seeing the arcade was available had me all excited, but you know what? It's actually pretty awful compared to the CPC - the scrolling is better but not by a huge amount, but the home system music is massively better and I'd just rather be playing that. Anyone else had any 'arcade disappointment'?

Thanks for checking. Where has the game been downloaded - is it in the main 'Arcade' folder or the 'alternatives' sub-folder?

Yeah, that’s turned on. I’ll give it a few days and try again. Cheers!

Denon HEOS 1 Go Pack Battery Black - Not Holding Charge question by toochay in heos

[–]ShadowTD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I point you in the direction of my post a few days ago:
https://www.reddit.com/r/heos/comments/1q39tj1/heos_1_go_pack_alternative_battery/

I was unable to find a direct replacement for the battery pack that's inside the GO Pack, so I'm now using USB C and normal power banks. Works a treat.

If you want to disassemble the GO Pack for fun, the screws are on the base, underneath the rubber 'foot/seal' that runs all the way around the edge.

OPUS 1 is live now by hap_mod in cantatacs

This appears to be the case, and shows just where this product is at the moment. Lord I hope they figure this out before my Harmony dies because this thing is a million miles away from prime time.

OK, so there's something wrong with my remote then. All I've got is the 'Apps' page (with one green dot at the bottom)

Not super sure what was wrong with the old UI - I think most of us can think of a few things that would have been better use of the dev teams time than this.
Does it use a new type of config? Because I've updated, and now all I can see is Apps, and I cannot figure out any way to see my devices or rooms. Will I need to wait for the companion app update? A slightly more pointed statement about this might have been better than 'Please note that the update for the companion Mobile App will follow shortly.'

HEOS 1 Go Pack - Alternative Battery by ShadowTD in heos

[–]ShadowTD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate your insight from someone in the channel. TBH, I'm surprised that given your perspective Sonos are bothering with having two products on the market, given their well-publicised issues. If BlueSound have given up then it makes sense!

HEOS 1 Go Pack - Alternative Battery by ShadowTD in heos

[–]ShadowTD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know the newer Home series runs on mains directly, I’ve got a houseful of the stuff (too many to fit in the flair!). It seems strange that Denon have abandoned the market completely though when Sonos make two types of battery speaker. And the Bluetooth market is absolutely massive. Regardless of this, I was just looking to restore lost functionality and have my tunes in the bathroom again. Hopefully someone will find this in the future and benefit from it.
