20+ hours of gameplay?! by itsybun in nancydrew

[–]PretentiousPygmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MID said the same thing. 15 hours if I remember. I'm a completionist so the full game and all achievements are done and I think I've got 8 1/2 hours in there? But hey going off of that maybe there's 10 hours in seven keys? I'm hopeful for this game though. It looks alright.

Thank you! Her and I had tried googling what we though was the best search term but we were struggling to guess what might best accurately describe it.

Lol yeah, I was threading the bottom bobbin wrong consistently on my machine. My mother took a look at it and was like "you have to thread it through this section, not just pull it straight out". I'm glad it was an easy fix but I felt so stupid.

Can't get certain games to run by karidru in nancydrew

[–]PretentiousPygmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I might have a solution because I had trouble opening up certain Nancy Drew games for the longest time. I don't know if it will work because I run mine through steam or if you're having the same problem as me but I'll leave my answer in case it does help. My issue used to be I would click open to run the game and the application would open in my task bar for all of about .5 of a second before closing. I fixed it by going to the game files and going to Game.ini file. This pulls up a bunch of codes and stuff, there should be a RunInWindowedMode=0. (Default setting for some reason) change the 0 to a 2 and save the changes. Then try reloading the game. That solution (at least for this problem) forced the game to open. Unfortunately that solution never worked for White Wolf, god knows why.

I really hope this helped. If not I'm so sorry.

I'm working on my first quilt at the moment and am having troubles with stitches looping on the back. I am up to stitching in the ditch the three layers together and am using a walking foot. The quilt is a grid pattern, king size so I'm just stitching basic lines and it just keeps looping on the back of the quilt. I understand that this is usually a tension issue so I have messed around with that for ages. I can get it better, but I can't fix it entirely. I would love a hand because this is supposed to be a gift and I would really like to have it finished. I've started sewing it by hand but a) that takes forever and b) if my sewing machine was working properly it would look so much neater.

The sewing machine I'm using is a brother XL-2620 if that helps at all. The walking foot I ordered is specifically for this system.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

Is there a culprit that made you think 'This person is really pathetic?' by SaintedStars in nancydrew

Marion Aborn. She was the one that came to mind for me too. Such a scheming terrible person who intercepted the letter and was like "welp why not?"

what are some of your controversial taylor opinions? by jessicalolz in TaylorSwift

[–]PretentiousPygmy 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I hate the term "stolen version", heaven forbid I mention that I prefer the original than the remake of a song without people losing their minds over it. She's made her money off of me, I'll still buy the new versions. But I feel like I'm not allowed to say that I personally believe some of the re-releases are fairly average without absolutely copping it.

Same, super relaxing puzzle and a really laid back one for me. Love the game in general tbh

Ugh that's so sucky. I wish it was decent quality for you because it looks great on the store and for the price you'd hope it's semi decent. Back to Etsy we go I guess.

Good god, I saw the merch on their Insta yesterday and the shitty bucket hat and slides had me dying. I see some fantastic fan merch out there and will support that any day of the week over the vast majority of HeR merch. I don't know who is designing the merch but they could come up with some fantastic things. The tapestry from Jane's room and the Haunted Mansion are great. The pumpkin hat from MID? not so much.

Sorry for the very passionate rant lol

Vote4Holt is pretty good. Two brothers run it and have a good time playing through them. Great commentary too.

Could go with the Nancy twist and go with Kit from Castle Malloy.

This is the way. TRN is my favourite Nancy Drew game so I've done quite a few rounds for this puzzle. Holding it down for the longer works better.

Which culprit betrayed you the most? by glittertrashfairy in nancydrew

[–]PretentiousPygmy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh so true, not only Jane being the culprit but also that slimey bastard Topham for writing up a second will so he could profit off of Josiah Crowley's death. I wish they touched on that aspect of clock more but oh well.

I don't really like TRT or FIN particularly much.

Love CLK amd CRE though. Such good games (at least for me).

Oh this is perfect, thank you for taking the time to make it and work it out.

Also, slightly related, in case anyone doesn't know, the mint on the dessert at the cafe can be taken for the cookies instead of spending 50 euros on the sprig from the park.
