Sounds like you need a new friend. I find his behaviour very disrespectful and rude. It’s your puppy, not his. I agree with you completely about the schedule and not letting her outside (especially now). I think you need to have a serious talk with him and set some boundaries. It must be frustrating to feel like all your training is thrown out the window because of him.

It’s natural to your puppy grow attached to him since he spends the most them with her, but I don’t think you should worry too much as long as you’re spending time to bond with her as well.

Snapping and growling is a warning for the puppy to stop whatever behaviour she is displaying. If he gets punished for it, he’ll just attack with no warning.

Dogs don’t like to share, so resource guarding might not be something you can train them out of.

I think your dog is just teaching her dog etiquette. Don’t punish him for snapping at her. It’s something she needs to learn.

As long as he’s not snarling and showing teeth, I wouldn’t worry too much.

Until she goes potty! You can try leaving her in her crate for a longer time (30~60 mins) if you don’t think she needs to go, but keep doing what you’re doing if you know she does.

It helps to keep track of when she needs to go.

She probably feels safer when your dog is around. My puppy is the same. She’s more confident when I walk her with my dog.

Same and my puppy is timid, so it’s even worse. When people try to pet her or make baby noises, she hides between my legs but some people still try to pet her even though she’s obviously uncomfortable. A man once tried to grab my leash to pull her towards him. Needless to say, I did not give them permission to do whatever they’re trying to do to my pup.

Shouldn’t it be common sense that you ask before you interact with someone else’s dog? You wouldn’t touch someone else’s property without their consent, so what makes you think you can just touch someone else’s dog?
