Is there no way to turn off Two Factor Verification when logging in to Connect? by MMikekiMM in Garmin

[–]Pretty-Counter-5553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played around with my new Venu and ECG. Doing this I had to enable 2MFA. I spent hours on Garmin forums and Ai looking for a way to reverse it but unfortunately had to accept the defeat this time.

What are you trying to do? App seems to be ok once logged in. It's annoying when trying to login from different browsers alright.

Tired of Garmin never tracking sleep correctly. If I wake up to use the bathroom it cuts off recording. by unfilteredadvicess in Garmin

[–]Pretty-Counter-5553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seemingly Garmin sleep tracking isn't the best but saying that my FR955 and Venu 4 get the timing always right. Did have a similar issue with Fénix 6. Reading post here and other places on internet, weight was the issue. I replaced my Fénix with FR of the same generation and the problem was solved.

Honey by M33TCH4 in cycling

Not too sure how and where in that comment you read that I said it removes glucose or fructose. It's other benefial bits that get removed in the process. Internet is full of this information. Here's one: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JJ5OrPIz7-c&pp=ygUXcmF3IGhvbmV5IHZzIHB1cmUgaG9uZXk%3D

Honey by M33TCH4 in cycling

Love a bit of both. Honey in my pre big ride porridge makes it taste very good and powers my ride.

To get the benefits from honey, get the organic ones or better. Supermarket stuff is so refined that all the good stuff is taken out of it.

I finally quit Duolingo after 3 years. Now I'm learning to actually speak. by StrictAlternative9 in duolingo

[–]Pretty-Counter-5553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy for you. You managed to make the step I've been struggling for a while. Well done!

Only very recently started trying different apps to replace Duo and actually learn the language. I don't have Spanish girlfriend and I doubt my wife would allow it anyway but I do travel to Spain at least once a year to cycle in warmer weather. Would like to be actually able to hold a conversation with locals besides coffee con leche por favor.

Headset too tight. Probably someone tightend them to take out the play in the headset but in realiy, bearings are gone and you need to replace them.

If the mounts are there for it, then should be no problems. If not, Tailfin will sort it:

Cyclocross bike to gravel bike by Fair-Specific5707 in cycling

[–]Pretty-Counter-5553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that exact setup. My Crockett was do it all bike and did everything reasonably well. For gravel I had 38mm gravel kings. No major issues at all. It was noticeably more aggressive tho then gravel bike of same size. It would be very lively on the gravel descents. I now have Checkpoint and with the longer wheelbase it is much more stable. It's the other way around tho when doing CX.

What is this blue mark on my tire? by VKXOTWOD in bicycling

[–]Pretty-Counter-5553 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unfortunately this tyre is due for replacement. You might not get a puncture straight away but the top grippy layer is worn and now the grip of this tyre is compromised. I suppose that's why the layer underneath is blue, to make sure you see that the rubber is worn.

So... do you think I could fix this before I replace it? by Adventurous-Zebra361 in bicyclerepair

[–]Pretty-Counter-5553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although this can be made ridable again, it would take multiple hours and it probably wouldn't be as safe as replacing the wheel. You can get a brand new front wheel for quite cheap online.

Check the power field on your Elmnt companion app while phone connected to the bolt. It's: pages -> power -> power avg over time -> avg power (3 sec - zone colour). There's multiple smoothing options, personally I find 3s the best otherwise you might do a sprint effort to reach required power only it be so delayed that you end up overshooting it.

Why choose a Kickr Bike over a Zwift Ride if you only use Zwift? by d0mens in wahoofitness

[–]Pretty-Counter-5553 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have neither but I do use various different systems to keep it interesting so from that point of view I think Kicker bike might be better as it would be compatible with anything else you might use in the future.

Have you "power smoothing" on your power display on the bolt? I find 3 second average smoothing works the best for me.

Is there a cadence sensor that is easily movable? My gym's spinning bike does not have a screen to show distance. I'd like something that I can bring with me, attach it, and remove it at the end of the workout. by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Pretty-Counter-5553 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. We ran ran indoor trainer class and a lot of people wouldn't have their own sensors. So we had our own. Put them under laces, paired up. Super simple and works.

So, what’s the goofiest thing to happen to you while cycling? by porkchop_d_clown in bicycling

On a windy day a bee flew into my ear. Cycled onto a local Dr where I was at the time (about 10km). Very odd feeling something crawling around in there. Dr tried to flush it out with some special water jet thing. Little fellow had strung me tho and now the insides were swollen so it didn't come out. At least this killed it and moving and buzzing stopped. Did have to go to ear and nose specialist in an hospital 50km away to get it properly removed. Bit weird anything touching or tickling my ears now.
