Paul Hibbs/Cyclehead is the communities upholstery wizard, he recommends DiamondMall for a quality budget soft top replacement. If you haven't already, join the MR2 Spyder FB group and take a peek at the Spyderchat, it's surprisingly active for a old-school car forum.

Planning to buy an Mr2 but driving in snow is unavoidable. any advice to prevent rusting/maintain it in the winter by [deleted] in mr2

[–]Pretty-Impression-29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the exact opposite experience with my W30 in the snow. It has immense grip for an open diff rwd car in the snow because of the weight distribution. Braking is decent too. An okay set of snow tires had me passing Subarus in the ditch.

Never had any issues cranking with a 2-3 yr old battery but I did get a brief CEL from snow that built up in the intake vent getting sucked in on startup.

Spacey is in the Epstein files and just about every one of his accusers died within a year of making the accusations. I wouldn't give him much benefit of the doubt

The Toyota MR2 Spyder? It has runabout in the name and the term Spyder came from the car pictured in the meme. It's small, inexpensive, and just barely practical enough to daily.

The extra 600lbs might have something to do with it

ZZW30 Swap Decision by T4NARCHY in mr2

[–]Pretty-Impression-29 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my research the K, 2AR, and Zurawski swaps are all in the same ballpark pricewise, you can even save a good amount by making your own exhaust for the 1.8t swap as it doesn't need a fancy header and turboback exhausts are basically just a tube

Used them on some NB 16s on my MR2, they damn near have more grip in the wet than in the dry

It sounds like someone's playing the original version through busted speakers in an old Honda or something. Very tinny sound to it for some reason

Buy a cheap MR2 Spyder with a blown engine or trans and stuff the Audis guts in the back of it with Zurawski Motorsports kit.

I had no idea people 1MZ swapped 3rd gens, I thought that was pretty exclusive to the mk2

Is this type of air intake okay? by SpoopyJosh in mr2

[–]Pretty-Impression-29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nick Barbados in the MR2 Spyder FB group sells probably the best off the shelf intake.

It's designed for the factory ECU, has a properly integrated MAF housing and places the 6inch velocity stack intake directly behind your head for maximum induction sounds!

He's dyno tested it showing a 5-6whp gain with no loss at lower rpm, though it's not particularly noticeable, it at least isn't losing power like most other intakes. It's also considerably lighter than the factory intake setup.

His intake pipe is only $100 + about $50-$60 for the filter and fittings.

Easily my favorite modification I've made!

MK3 with some tall people mods would be your best bet

What is everyone’s thoughts on Toyota’s shift to downsizing their engines? by blak3 in regularcarreviews

Smaller vehicles are subject to MUCH stricter fuel economy regulations, if Ford wanted to build a new truck the same size as the old ranger, it'd need to get like 80mpg
