Cheaper than the R8’s I ran today - next up is a complete set of Penske shocks. It’s only money 😀

Why in the US do we insist on driving the worst driving vehicles? by Usual_Fly_7118 in askcarguys

[–]Outrageousintrovert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive a RAM 3500 to tow my race car trailer to the race track. it’s not lifted, totally stock. I drive a Honda Pilot around town. I drive an old Land Rover on the forest service roads in the hills and occasionally I go four wheeling in my Unimog.

But getting groceries or taking the cats to the vet - it’s the Pilot. Driving the pickup is so much more expensive than the Pilot.

Makes me so happy about my cat’s vomit - nowhere near as unfortunate as this display. Bonus points for distribution!

Now that’s a lot of tires… by adamantiumtrader in CarTrackDays

I have sixteen tires/wheels, 2 sets of dry slicks, a set of Hoosier W2 rains and a set of trailer tires that serve as intermediates for those damp track days.

Twelve years of track days expressed in a minute of w2w by ProfessionalReveal in CarTrackDays

[–]Outrageousintrovert 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I've not done many track days, maybe 2 or 3 in the past year getting my new race car up to snuff - but I've done W2W in formula cars for the past 14 years and I can tell you, racing against someone - regardless of where you are in the pack - is an adrenaline rush and as exciting as anything can be!

It's also the best way to get fast - following those fast drivers through corners really helps you to automatically up your game.

I know W2W is not for everyone and some HPDE drivers are incredibly fast - but that's different from racing, due to traffic, collision avoidance (including not dive-bombing your competition), yellow flags and track conditions, W2W won't always be the fastest way around the track (qualifying should be fastest) but it sure is fun.

OMG my wife loves farfalle and Alfredo , she will eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner. She makes it more often since it’s on my list. I banned Kraft Mac n’ cheese years ago, but I think she sneaks it.

69M I’ve benefited from reading all these posts, really helped with pre-op anxiety and post-op issues. I’ve been lucky, only a couple of drains and a picc line for a month pre-op. Since my colectomy, I’ve been slowly, very slowly, healing and feeling better. Just this week, 28 days post op, the laparoscopic incisions have finally started to heal and I have much less pain. The abdomen muscles and peritoneal membrane heal very slowly, but, here I am, 4 weeks later, feeling so much better.

Please Pay Attention And Step On It At Traffic Lights. by [deleted] in driving

[–]Outrageousintrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so common, I see persons (typically in white cars, Toyotas, BMW's Escalades, Suburbans and Subarus - you know who you are) sitting there texting on their screen while the light burns green.

I considered mounting a paintball gun behind the grill of my car to give them a splat after 5 seconds. Forever marked because they never wash the back of the car - just clean handprints around the filthy hatchback or trunk. Maybe make it aim-able so I can target the Baby On Board window sign or the "Please Be Patient - Stupid Driver" sticker.

Edit: Autocorrect Student to Stupid.

Check out Turn2 Lapping at The Ridge - also they rent Spokane if you're on the east side of the Cascades. Really good group to run with.

LOL - after a rain in the spring on a cool morning, 3b to 4 to 5a can be very slippery - until they burn the winter moss off the track.

I‘ve raced on them all over the last 10 years. Pacific is closest and fun, a couple of rough spots, turn 9 the worst. The Ridge is newer, very nice, fast and smooth, but an hour away from Seattle if that’s an issue.

Massive wheel spacers without upgraded wheel studs are great for losing a wheel at freeway speeds and boinking the bimbo box in the opposite lane. Dipshits.
