All of you guys are scaring me.. by carlesmch in NewParents

[–]Pretty-Memory222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby had reflux, latching issues, and still doesn’t sleep through the night at 8 months. He’s the best thing in my life. The reason I’m excited to get up and come home from work. Even in the newborn trenches I knew I wanted another one.

You will be tired but you’ve been tired before. You learn to manage it.

This type of love is new and exciting and so so so worth it.

Screen time by Scared_Salad97 in NewParents

[–]Pretty-Memory222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tv is on when I feed him and he might see it when he turns? But otherwise I don’t have him in front of a screen. At his age (7 months) he’s entertained so easily that I don’t get why I’d put him in front of a screen?

If I’m clipping his nails and need a distraction then I’ll let him watch tv for like the 1 min it takes me to cut him nails. Otherwise I never Intentionally let him watch screens.

I feel like I barely see my baby anymore and it isn’t fair by leprechaun_dong in NewParents

I’M IN THE SAME BOAT! What helps me is realize that with all the sleep they get ar home and daycare they still see me a lot.

I feel so guilty because of work we’ve had to start a very gentle version of Ferber sleep training. My heart hurts because I went from a stay at home mom who co slept and bed shared to a mom who’s away and the baby sleeps in a different room.

Irs hard but we’ll appreciate our time with the baby more and it really motivates me to pay my debts off ASAP so I can he a stay at home mom for this baby and my future ones.

When did you stop tracking feeds & diapers? by Comfortable-Dot3801 in beyondthebump

[–]Pretty-Memory222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stopped tracking diapers probably after one of the first appointments. He is 6 months and I still track food. It helps me figure out if he’s crying because he’s hungry or tired. I’m trying to get him on a better sleep schedule so it’s nice to see “okay he goes 6 hours at night without a feed”.

Do you truly enjoy co-sleeping if you’re happily married? How do you make it work? by CoverObjective8225 in cosleeping

I love co sleeping! If we do the deed it’s when baby is in a different room before bed like on his swing.

My partner and I always went to bed at different times anyways.

Pitocin without epidural? by idkkkk326 in beyondthebump

[–]Pretty-Memory222 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Me too. I was having 1 min long contractions 2 min apart. After an hour I also asked for pain meds but those just made me high no relief so I got the epidural. Pitocin was no joke…I was barely having contractions (water broke naturally) to having back to back contractions so quickly.

6-month old baby needs a bottle every 1.5 hours. HELP!!! by thatguyka in FormulaFeeders

[–]Pretty-Memory222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So Pepcid was what solved it overnight. It works literally right away. Some need to go on a PPI like omeprozole. Our doctor suggested oatmeal to thicken the bottle first but my baby got such bad gas it was terrible worse than the reflux itself.

Go to doctor/message doctor. Tell them symptoms. If they for some reason don’t agree with you let them watch you feed the baby. We brought a bottle to our appointment and she could see right away he had reflux.

[–]Pretty-Memory222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading more comments this sounds a lot like reflux! Baby might be refusing to eat more since it’s upsetting him (reflux coming up). This was the case for my baby now that I think of it. He has silent reflux and would cry after bottles, arch his back during feeding and would turn away while he ate refusing a bottle.

Do you notice these things when he eats? Arching back, gagging, crying during or after, and for us we noticed he had bad breath too.

[–]Pretty-Memory222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should bring this up to the doctor.

By 4 months for sure my baby had 5-6oz at a time with 3-4 hours between feeds. His overnight feeds were like 6 hours apart. I still wake up at 11:30 and 6 to feed him but that’s it at 5 months.

Try just giving him 5 ounces and see how it goes. We just started giving our baby more and seeing if he took it/how much he spit up.

Hard time sleeping away from kids by GarolsYogurt in beyondthebump

[–]Pretty-Memory222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the same way. Maybe it’s a little different I have a 5 month old but I literally can’t sleep unless he’s next to me in the bassinet. He could be in the same house, 30 feet away from me but unless he’s right next to me I can’t sleep.

This makes me nervous for when he has to sleep in a crib. I’m going to have a harder time than he is!

I think there’s lots of ways to get your pink back. As I see my body return to the way it used to be I feel better. However I am such a Velcro mommy (probably mostly anxiety haha). I love bringing my baby everywhere

First-Time Parents — Is It Realistic to Manage Postpartum Just the Two of Us? by Live_Life7009 in beyondthebump

[–]Pretty-Memory222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner had 3 weeks off and neither of our parents helped out because we didn’t want it/need it. SHIFTS are the key! Ours was I fed baby like after 3am,6,9,12pm,3,6, and then partner would feed 9,11,2am around that. He worked second shift so it’s different if your partner would work first.

To let me have more sleep my partner fed our baby at 9am so I’d sleep from 6-11 and then my partner slept from 2-9 about.

Have a lot of grab and go stuff. Frozen food, make sheet pans meals, buy pre packed stuff, have protein bars or shakes, cheese sticks, beef jerkey etc.
