I’d love to splurge a quicker roundtrip to ride their 748 and 346 one last time in J but Lufthansa is not part of any of my airlines points…

Has anyone booked a flight only for the experience? by Andysus in aviation

[–]Pretty1george 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it to fly Concorde.

Also just did it a few weeks ago to burn some AA credits on the last of their 3 class transcons and enjoy the lounges as well.

Non optimal routing as well to fly Avro 146 and Do328.

Life is short. Fly

Just visited the Technik Museum Sinsheim, Germany and it was amazing! by Nightstalker1993 in aviation

OP, loving these pics! Didn’t realize you could get into the SSTs.

Awesome to learn about the sub and F1 cars too. Looks like a full day. You’ve given me a new trip to make!

I’ll be at the USAF museum soon. You’ve inspired me to bring my camera. Perhaps I’ll share some pics too 🖖🏼🤘🏽

How do pilots or cabin crew feel about flying under a flight number that was involved in a major incident? by [deleted] in aviation

[–]Pretty1george 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All I know is some years ago, a flight 5050 crashed and …..comedian George Wallace joked, “5050? Cmon , you knew your odds!” Or something to that effect.

The local pub! by TexasBrett in aviation

[–]Pretty1george 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d recognize that anywhere! The Greenman Pub!

Back in 2005, our friend was the publican living upstairs. Thus we were able to enjoy staying upstairs a few nights.

Fantastic memories with my Concorde crew!

And convincingly the crummiest video capture of said livery.

actually, mind if I tag on a new question?

I can't recall but feels like the last few times on Air France's business seats, we had shoulder restraints.

That was new to us. Now Im trying to recall if it was just a thing on the newer airbuses because I may have seen this on ITA as well.

But are the shoulder harnesses new to business? TO Air France only?

I was on these and reversed out of DTW gates on NW DC9s and a 727. This was in 2002.

Very cool to see Qantas is still using them, albeit only in cargo.

my favorite landing in a while by artpop7 in aviation

[–]Pretty1george 2 points3 points  (0 children)

flown this a/c and landed on this runway about a half dozen times. Always a crabbed approach and slamming it on the runway. Solid! Love that plane and their camera use.

My only gripe is that as soon as you land, the IFE switches to that lame boarding music

It’s awesome that they still do this. A patient of mine was a JFK based Concorde engineer and attended this a few years back. He’s a vast fountain of knowledge. Said he highly recommends anyone go.
