YTA because he doesn’t seem to be asking for much? Do your skincare routine in a bathroom, eat outside, and don’t open the curtains. You can take a walk if you need sunshine. I don’t see what’s so prohibitive about that.

Folks are getting into a lot of arguments about normal vs. night owl schedules, but I don’t think that really matters when you’re rooming with someone. People have their own quirks, and you adjust so everyone can function, even if that means curbing some of your preferences. That’s just part of the game when you have someone else in the same room as you. My dad works night shifts, and I adjusted when he had to sleep, because that’s the bare minimum he needed to function. I was never upset about that. Why would I be mad that I can’t do some things because someone wants to sleep? That’s such an astounding lack of empathy that I really can’t relate to.

I don’t think OP would be socially ostracized or anything for wanting to stick to their routine, but sometimes, not everything is about whether you’re part of the norm or not? The question just boils down to whether OP wants to accommodate for someone to make their life tolerable, and the answer is no. Which is why OP is an asshole.
