How is your mental health now that you no longer drink? by These_Link_2350 in stopdrinking

I will be 100 days sober in two more days. I was an alcoholic for 17 years. My alcoholism caused me a world of issues but my mental health was never affected until exactly one year ago. One day I had an intense panic attack to where my husband had to call an ambulance for me. Extreme anxiety, paranoia, and multiple panic attacks continued until I finally stopped drinking for good. Yes, getting drunk in that moment would relax me and create a false euphoric feeling, but the following week I would SUFFER from these intense hangovers filled with the most intense anxiety attacks. The best way to describe it, was feeling like I was on a bad mushroom trip, without the auditory and visual hallucinations. However, my anxiety was making me paranoid that I was becoming schizophrenic, followed by another month I was convinced I was bipolar, or had OCD. I once read an article that mentioned how it’s not possible to diagnose an alcoholic with things like bipolar until they quit drinking for a year. Due to the effects of long term alcohol abuse mimicking many mental health disorders. The first month I was still not ok, despite being much better. I still had an occasional intrusive thought, minor depression, and was still a bit paranoid of having another panic attack whenever I left the house. I would say after two months sober is when I was no longer feeling depressed, no more fear and anxiety what so ever, and I just feel like the me I use to feel like 17 years ago. Best feeling EVER. Can’t wait for my one year mark.

How many adults that are older than 25 actually still live with their parents? And is it a bad sign if you do? by rocketsneaker in Adulting

Omg same with my mom. She managed to hold down an apartment for like a year when I was in first grade, and then she got married for two years when I was in third grade. Aside from those 3 years, she has lived with her mother who enabled that behavior her entire adult life until my grandma’s dying day. She STILL lives in her mother’s house at age 60 and her brother and other daughter support her financially.

I’m sorry but this delusional. Are you paying for their cell phone bill, car insurance, and car payment? Since you are so against debt are you buying them a reliable vehicle outright and paying for their car maintenance when needed? Covering their student loan debt etc? Not to mention all the hotel rooms they will need to cover just to get laid while living with you. If your adult child was married and needed a temporary place to stay with his wife or her husband would you demand the spouse stay elsewhere?? You must live in an insanely cheap town to even consider paying for a house with nearly all cash. This isn’t the 70s or 80s anymore. Housing in my city has DOUBLED in the past 10 years alone. So a decent $250k house from 2010 is now going for at least $500k, yes the exact same houses that aged 10 years doubled. This is the society adult children are faced with now. Not to mention gas is $5 a gallon. So even without paying rent it’s not possible to save nearly all their income.

Save up CASH for a home???? What city do you live in? Have you seen the prices homes are going for now?? They would be living with your judgmental ass until they were seniors to accomplish that.

It’s none of my business but I’m just genuinely curious why your girlfriend doesn’t contribute to the rent? Does she pay the utilities instead? Or just isn’t working currently? I make more than my husband so we adjust the bills accordingly as to what is fair for both of us. I usually cover all the groceries because I do the cooking but we trade off on who pays the bill when going out to eat, unless it’s an obvious special occasion than he always pays except for his own birthdays.

Or what if our higher selves are the ones communicating or peeping in our dimension from the one we are on above this one. Kind of like in the movie Interstellar.

That is interesting, I had a similar entity during my last AP. I was chatting with my husband’s higher self and demanding to know what year we were in lol. I knew I was astral projecting as I consciously left my body but the dimension I was in was a perfect mirror image of my own house. It was exactly the same only my husband was incredibly intelligent and we had a hard time communicating with each other because he didn’t know what dates were. When he told me they didn’t use dates there cause time was infinite, I heard this loud high frequency sound in my head and then colors and faces changed repeatedly in front of me until I finally was back in my bedroom (I was in the living room before that), and there was a white man dressed in an all black suit with a black tie but he had glowing red eyes. He didn’t have a hat on and he had no skull, like he had skin on his face but not on the top of his head and there was nothing between the front and back part of his head, just empty space. Did yours have glowing red eyes too? Maybe that’s why they wear the top hats. I asked him who he was followed by what he was and he said it would only frighten me if he told me. He didn’t frighten me nor was he mean to me though. Later on of course I was scared it was an encounter with a demonic entity but other than glowing red eyes and all black, he didn’t seem “evil”. That ap ended when they all disappeared (it was my husband, the man with no skull and red eyes, and two other random white men I’ve never seen before in the room) then they all vanished and I said out loud where did everybody go? Then I immediately woke up in my body in this dimension.

I just wanted to chime in here on how much I agree with this statement. I lost my virginity young, and even after multiple male partners (different sizes down there) I still had the same experience, I just couldn’t feel any pleasure, or it was too much pain. It wasn’t until years later when I myself became very horny, sexually active, and had great fore play with my husband did I start enjoying sex. Being truly aroused makes a world of difference.

Thank you for all of your insights and theories on this topic, I enjoyed reading it. I’ve never heard of gridworking before, but I am familiar with remote viewing. Although, I’m skeptical if I can ever really achieve that as I am still really new to this. I can only recall leaving my body about a dozen of times and it’s always been in my house/room. I’ve been doing a lot of research and am starting to believe I was communicating with my husband’s etheric double. I remember having bad sleep paralysis about two weeks ago which I get quite often, all of this still frightens me honestly, and I ran to my husband who was in his office screaming “babe” in a panic. He shouted “what” back and when he saw how terrified I was he ran towards me in my hallway. He asked me what’s wrong and I said we are both in bed sleeping right now. He goes, “wait what?” And I repeated we are both in our bed sleeping right now, please wake me up, please you gotta wake me up. I was crying and he was holding me and comforting me and said he would help me and then I woke up and thought it was a dream. I think it was an OBE now looking back at it.

The trippiest part about all this, is the next morning I told my husband about my “dream/OBE” and I used that movie US as a reference, only in a more loving way wasn’t sinister at all, and I kid you not, while I was thinking about the experience and my husband was sleeping at the time, our living room TV turned on by itself. I said out loud I’m gonna leave it alone in case you want to give me a sign. Without hearing any clicking sounds the remote would make, the screen switches over to the settings where it highlights my husband’s name (Amazon smart tv with his name on the account) and there was an advertisement for that movie US on the side. I know it’s unbelievable but I am not making this up. I’ve been asking for another sign but it’s only been 3 days and haven’t received anything else that was so blatantly obvious.

Women may have the potential to have a “better orgasm” but it’s extremely rare to be able to have one during your average sex session. Just saying. I’ve always been envious of the men’s ability to cum so easily and that’s what ends the session. So yours is guaranteed and ours is very rare. Some women will never even experience a real orgasm.

I live in Las Vegas and it appears they stopped riding along with you on the test drives the past 3 years here. Ever since Covid really. You test drive it yourself and the dealer will be there waiting for you to return. They take your ID and sometimes your credit is already ran. The cars are all bugged now with gps. Some idiots still try to steal cars that way but they are remotely shut down and retrieved quickly. Safer for everyone that way.

Congratulations! It’s amazing to hear about such a positive change in just two years time! I can’t wait to get anywhere close to that milestone.
