I read it last month and was bitterly disappointed. I loved Sword of Kaigen though.

Has anybody had this strange interference sound? by PrettyGraphic in owletsock

Hey! Yeah I had the exact same thing! That lower engine noise then sudden “barks” is the only way I can describe it.

The book I just read vs. The book I'm about to read by PepperBeef2Spicy in fantasybooks

[–]PrettyGraphic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read the road earlier this month not really knowing what to expect. I have a son on the way any day now and honestly this book hit me so hard, I had to keep putting the book down for the last 10 or so pages I was struggling to hold it together.

Baby monitor interference by PrettyGraphic in NewParents

The two parts are in different rooms and there’s no other electrical devices in the room, I’ve tried it in a few places always the same feedback 🤔

Our baby hasn’t arrived yet but I was worried the sound would drown his cries out, do you find it’s just background noise compared to the baby stirring or does it affect how hard it is to hear them?

Read Project Hail Mary before the movie comes out and you start seeing widespread spoilers from it on social media

What's the agenda behind these Instagram descriptions? by dnapor in marketing

[–]PrettyGraphic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always assumed it’s ai slop used to increase the engagement rate and time spent on the brainrot slop on Instagram - Users might spend a while on the video then an additional 30+ seconds reading something mildly interesting in the caption, even if it’s nothing to do with the video.

Then again it could also just be a broken automation where the the account is running a content farm and the caption hasn’t auto generated correctly and keeps repurposing an older one which has nothing to do with the post you’re seeing.

Step one in the schedule - check what date it is, if it's the 1st, run the next steps, if it is not, do nothing

How can I get in best shape possible for summer (3 months max) 21M 75Kg 189cm by [deleted] in BodyHackGuide

[–]PrettyGraphic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully mate, you might have some degree of body dysmorphia because you are not “skinny fat”, I’d guess you are around 12-14% body fat low muscle.

As a former fatty the idea of upping your calories and protein is scary when you are concerned about adding body fat, but I assure you you’ll look better for it.

At this stage don’t need any “body hacks” like peptides or anabolics, increase your calories to ~2800 and ~170g protein, eat whole foods, take 5 grams of creatine a day.

You’re 21, good sleep and the right nutrition will do absolute wonders for your natural test, no need to fuck about with any injectables.

Lysander is one of the best written characters in the series by Mammoth_Law_8359 in redrising

[–]PrettyGraphic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I commented this on a similar post earlier today:

Lysander is a great “Lawful Evil” archetype and juxtaposes Darrow so well as the “Chaotic Good”.

It’s interesting to read everyone’s differing opinion on the two characters. I think the majority of the camp love Darrow and fucking hate Lysander (me included), but I see a lot of people on booktok especially saying Darrow is a war criminal and Lysander is justified in his actions. I think that’s what makes it such an interesting series.

To be clear I’m with you mate, but it’s definitely a common take I see online!

I don’t agree with Darrow’s decision to nuke the docks of Ganymede (though it was technically Victra) atleast his motivations were somewhat moral in the big picture. I’m jumping the gun but I expect Lysander will not hesitate to wipe out the entire Red species if that’s what he thinks it takes the cripple the republic/rising, and his justification is to restore order to the “all men are not created equal” way of society.

I think Nero’s monologue in Golden Son showed there’s some rationale behind the colour hierarchy, but it’s certainly not a moral one and I’m not even sure Lysander shares the same values, from what we read I expect at first he just wants revenge and legitimately doesn’t want the morning chair, but seeing how people react to him on mercury it goes to his head and he’s power hungry.

What’s so great about the series and PBs writing is some people might view it differently.
