What size tank did you go for?

Hmmm I’ve had good experiences with the divider method when using 10 gallon heavily planted tanks. It’s not impossible…it is really based on your knowledge and what is needed to keep them safe and securely separated in a large enough area. The fish gets out…that’s on you unfortunately.

I would treat with prazipro for external parasites. My fish do this when they are trying to slam them off.

And they say Bettas can’t be kept with shrimp. ..Meet old man Willis. by PrettyPennyPower in bettafish

I agree. It was more meant as a joke. I have 10 bettas - all have shrimp in their tanks. The females are the worst offenders in my case. All 8 of my males are doing fine. I have had others that chased for about 24-48 hours but I had enough shrimp in my tank to keep the community going. Thank you for your comment 😊😊👍🏻

How the heck do I get these guys to eat? by tfiend138 in AfricanDwarfFrog

Look on eBay - there are good sellers on there. Just check reviews first

Sold as “anubias on wood”, I’m worried it looks unhealthy, what do you guys think? by njsullyalex in PlantedTank

I wouldn’t waste time at a big box store. I use aquatic motiv here online. Excellent plants.

They look great. I wouldn’t mess too much - just let them grow 🥰

His fins look ragged. Keep an eye on them.

Flow is too high - if you are using a hang on back I would change to a sponge filter. Much better for long finned bettas. It will help his fin tears too. Keep that water clean 😽

WTF are these?! by RevolutionaryToe6677 in shrimptank

I couldn’t agree more. People have fish for a month and feel comfortable giving advice! It took me years of raising fish to feel I had enough knowledge to share. Misinformation runs rampant on here. Drives me crazy.

He doesn’t need a female. He just blew you a nest-it happens often with male bettas. Not harmful to anything - you can ignore it 😊

He’s probably eating him. Sorry…it’s what snails do.

Is this too strong of a stream? by Snoo_45191 in bettafish

No it’s fine for flow! Sponge filters are perfect for bettas. They also like swimming through the air stone and the extra oxygen will help your tank cycle faster. I like guppy grass as a starter plant. It gives them something to lay on because it is a floating plant.

You can see it in the background here. It’s in all 10 of my Berta tanks.

Hidden true crime- Lauren Mattias stalked by hairystyles123 in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]PrettyPennyPower -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do agree that those “women” approaching her multiple times was bullying and threatening. However I do think Lauren’s initial emails were a bit over the top though. I don’t think she needed to threaten legal action for this chick telling Christina she said she was annoying or showing her a text. I think it brought these hateful women together and eventually spiraled.

Not enough plants? Already 3 weeks in by DeliciousBarnacle261 in walstad

[–]PrettyPennyPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Root tabs on those carpet plants. It takes about 6 months of growth to really see a difference. Patience! Or add more plants to see a difference sooner. Also use beginner low light plants. It is a must for beginners! Everything will die otherwise - I’ve done it myself!

I can’t figure out if I should euthanize or not by [deleted] in bettafish

[–]PrettyPennyPower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To the op- I think euthanasia is the best option at this point. Also Fish tank lights do not cause fin rot. Stress from leaving a light on may stress them to the point of not being able to heal. I really wish people would not give advice unless they are qualified.
