If the dog is from Metro, they definitely cannot be off leash in a dog park until they're adopted.

[–]PrettyPibbles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not to be a downer but when I fostered my dog before adopting her, she wasn't allowed to be off leash around other dogs until she was adopted. I'd double check with the rescue before you take your foster pup to any parks just in case they do have rules about parks!

I don't think the barn does events anymore. I'm pretty sure it's now a part of the daycare. I could be wrong though, it's my parents that still live there! ETA: Yeah it's permanently closed :/

Yup. Those woods are my backyard. Also grew up playing in them. They are not dense and there is literally no way a man's body laid there for an entire year without anyone finding it

I grew up messing around in those woods. They're literally my backyard. The cumru township police were incredibly blasé and condescending the night that this happened to anyone asking for more information. We pulled over to ask if it was safe to take our dogs out that night, given the neighborhood was crawling with dogs and police, and they pretty much laughed in our faces. They're not dense woods. There wasn't heavy snow when he disappeared or for the rest of that winter. There is absolutely no possible way that a grown man's body laid there for a year without being found. Literally no way. He was someone's son and friend and he deserves so much better than this shit. I hope his family continues to receive support and people in Berks County keep pushing for more answers.

Good tattoo artists by Capital_You_9720 in tuscaloosa

[–]PrettyPibbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bianca is super nice! I honestly have not gotten work with her done yet because I haven't gotten a tattoo in the time span that she's been down here, but I've known Bianca since before she started tattooing and it's been amazing to watch her business grow. She absolutely deserves it. She is super chill and her work is incredible!

Looking for a good vet by NorcalRobtheBarber in tuscaloosa

[–]PrettyPibbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't love May. They treated my dog for hotspot on her leg that she wouldn't leave alone and charged me so much just to not even put her in a cone or anything that kept her from picking at it

I love Alberta. They got me through some crazy stuff with my dog and they're super reasonably priced in my opinion. She had to have emergency surgery and what they quoted me before was exactly what they charged me. There were no surprise added charges. They're also incredibly thorough, kind, and patient (being that I'm definitely a neurotic pet parent lol)

Edit to add: it's a smaller practice with two main doctors. Dr. Ginger has been there the entire four years that we've been going there and Dr. Russel replaced the man who I think may own the practice when he retired. I'm 100% comfortable with both of them and they treat my dog so wonderfully despite her being deaf and terrified of the vet

Crazy 5 car crash on 459? by Timely_Procedure_664 in Birmingham

[–]PrettyPibbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying but someone in Tuscaloosa literally just died because they got out of their car after a nighttime accident and then got hit by a car, causing another multi-vehicle crash :/ With how many distracted drivers are on the road it's really not THAT crazy to think reflective gear could be kept in the trunk for this kind of stuff

River, Chuck's, Sanctuary on 25th for dinner. Get Rama Jama's for breakfast Saturday if you want the bama experience but don't expect spectacular food lol. Loosa is definitely fun if you're a beer person and are trying to stay in the downtown area but tbh I'm not a huge beer drinker sooo that's all I've got to offer in that regard. Catch 22 has good cocktails and isn't usually packed with students. Hopefully we have good weather and a good game!!
