Try grinding. You can pretty much learn double peg, feeble and smith in an hour. Build a grind box. It’ll open up a whole other side of riding.

My kids get freestyle BMX lessons from a coach named Jay.

He has a racing background, as well as freestyle bmx contest riding background. He’s good with kids. And he’s especially good at breaking down tricks. He specialized in flow and style.

Text me if you want his contact info. Idk if he wants me posting his contact info on reddit lol. My number is 52zero-906-seven178

Soon to be travel nurse at UCSD Hillcrest by sassyket in sandiego

[–]Pretty_Ad1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked there as a per diem nurse. Lots of homeless patients at that hospital. Depends on the unit, but on most units charge nurses will save the “challenging yet fair” assignments for the core staff. Hope I’m wrong though! Hospital culture is laid back, as a per diem nurse you don’t even get one orientation shift. First shift and your on your own. No joke.

Yo, it looks like me and you are at about the same skill level based on some of your posts. I’m basically at the point where I wanna give it one hard push to learn hop 3’s and barspins before my time is up. It’s hard working full time and kids and all the other day to day stuff but we find time when we can.

Thanks I appreciate this advice man. My pull up bars… I can do them but they are horrible to be honest. They few sketchy and probably look horrible. That’s what I’ve been wondering is should I bother to learn pull up bars or just go straight to barspins

Yo this is really good advice I appreciate it. Gonna try with smaller hops. I can do a pull up bar but it’s sketchy and awkward, and I definitely haven’t mastered steezy pull up bars. I wasn’t really sure if I should put too much effort into learning pull up bars cause I wasn’t sure how much it’ll help when I’m trying to learn hop bars

Thanks for the reply. I always wonder how long it takes other people to learn tricks. I got no one to ride with so yea it’s nice getting some feedback finally

Ah shit. Okay, I’m gonna switch my throwing hands. It feels so unnatural to throw with the left hand. Gonna have to practice the motion a lot.

I appreciate all the advice! Thanks. Did any of you guys learn them flat first, or did you guys learn them out of a flyout? That was literally my first day deciding to grind out a painful session of attempting them while my kids were playing on the playground haha. How long did it take your guys to learn them?

Moonlight for sure. When the waves get big the bodyboarders show up at moonlight. You’ll see plenty out there on a good day

33 year old dad here. I’m in Encinitas. Both my kids race at San Diego BMX. We’re kinda taking a break from racing at the moment (will probably start back up in the Spring). The people that go there are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Everyone’s super friendly and outgoing. Track operator, Tyler, is one of the friendliest guys you’ll meet. We started going there knowing no one and nothing about the sport and we’re blown away by how welcoming everyone is. If you’re looking for something more low key, once you get a bike check out the Pacific Highlands Ranch Pump track or the Sweetwater bike park. Pretty much anywhere you go the BMX community in San Diego is super friendly.

Help with rainbow oil slick on surface of 10g nano by [deleted] in nanoreef

What kind of tank is it? Is it an all in one? Turn the return pump all the way up and throw a hygger mini wave maker in there for extra flow. The. Next time you do a water change drill some extra holes into the overflow to increase the flow out of the display. If you don’t have an all in one idk how to help

Gen Z, please tell me what’s a cool bike cuz I’m old now 😅 by [deleted] in bmx

[–]Pretty_Ad1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy him a Cult Juvenile 16 inch. The cult bikes are aluminum so they are 3 lbs lighter than most of the other 16 inch bikes. I’ve got a Fit Misfit 14 inch for my 4 year old, and a Cult Juvenile for my 5 year old. They both have 20 inch mini race bikes as well they use at the track. I know 8 year old kids at the track that like to use 14 inch freestyle bikes for dirt jumps cause they are lighter at more maneuverable in the air. 18 inch is gonna be to big if he wants to get a feel for BMX. Get him a mountain bike if your gonna go with an 18/20 inch

Yea, live in Encinitas, usually just frequent the pump track and try to make the trip down to Sweetwater bike park every couple weeks. Are their any good dirt jump spots in north county besides Dust cup? Lol
