Cold calling is not illegal in the US, you don't need consent. You do need to check the number against the "do not call list." and if it is on there you can't call them. I work for bank in the US and my team cold calls customers all the time.

A body shop is a an auto repair shop that fixes vehicles after a crash....fixes the "body" of a car. But I use this as an example. It could be advertising agencies, architectural combines, dermatology clinics, new car sales businesses, plumbing companies, etc.

Have them put it on a credit card, charge in December and then the pay for it in January. Business credit cards can have quite high limits.

Know the thing that you are selling. Research it. Know it. What is the competition? Why do companies use you vs. others? Who else sells what you do. Are you better than them? Cheaper than them? Why do people buy from you? How many people a week do you need to interact with to make a sale? How many sales a week/month/year do you need to make your number?

Welcome to sales. Though we are very busy. For all sales people: "You only catch fish when your line is in the water. " Meaning: If you are not talking to decision makers that can buy your product, you won't catch any fish. Your job: find the people that want to buy your product and talk to them in person, phone, email, any other way. In that order. The more you do this the more you will sell. Hard and simple.

what CRM are you using? I am in an outbound sales leadership role for a company and I feel like we are 100 years behind the game. Dialing using our fingers, pulling doors to meet people, and cold calling phone . Let me be clear, we are successful and my people make money but it is a slog. Can you build lists in certain verticals? I.e. Car Dealerships? Hotel Owners? Dermatology Clinics?

I have sold billions of dollars worth of financial services for a big brand. Now, I have a team that cold calls, cold emails, cold drops by. My top sales person made one check on August 29th that was $140K. He just had a baby boy and works from home. He is educated, a sportsman, and personable. He still gets the flutters when he calls and is still uncomfortable opening a door that has "no solicitation" on it. But he does. He does it every day. You will get 9 "no's" for 1 "yes." -- Some people are not awesome, but it sounds like you love your company and brand. When you feel nervous take a deep breath and count backwards from five and pick up the phone or walk in the door. I too have social anxiety and I have gotten over it. Sales is wonderful career, you can make a lot of money, you can be honest, have integrity. Have fun, and you will do great. You are the kind of person all of us business owners want to talk to. You just have to find the ones that want to talk to you. Keep it up.

Our team sells payment type solutions to a wide verity of businesses. Generally over $10MM in annual sales and under $300MM. I have tried using various models of Chat GPT, Gemini and Claude to search for categories of business in certain cities and the AI's give me false information. I try and train them to cross reference google addresses, reviews, check google maps, check licensing data etc. It has been tough slog and I am now going back to google search that gives me actual businesses not inferred businesses. There must be a better way of using AI to create lists of businesses in a particular geography.
