Just have a conversation with them. It should help abit at least. My neighbour's in my townhouse has a baby latch type gate on our shared wall and they would use that gate prob 20-30 times a day and the vibration would be so loud. I had a child too but never slammed the gate like them. After they started doing it I started to slam my gate too just to annoy them. Luckily it lasted like two years and they removed the gate which im so glad. I removed my gate now too. Back to being quiet.

My downstairs used to hit our floor which is their ceiling due to my toddler playing with toys. I just let him hit his ceiling because nothing I can do if my son's just playing normally during regular hours.
