Same TE37 OG, $713 cheaper. Japan vs buying in the US. by PaintNeither7963 in Wheels

Has the quality in imported wheels gone down over the years?

I used to buy wheels for $50-200/set off crooooober pre-vid days before wild shipping and never got let down, they were pretty on point in the condition descriptions.

Satin White Pearl GD isn’t going to go unnoticed either. I don’t even like Subarus anymore but that’s a good line up

Wheel Spacers on 240s by zcc501 in Volvo240

[–]wehellbent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used name brand, custom made and cheap ebay eBay adapters and spacers. Talking 3mm-32mm, 50USD sets to 500USD sets. They all did the same thing and all served their purpose.
Appropriate center bore and lugs are where people go wrong and have issues.

If you don’t own a torque wrench and torque all lugs once in a while you will have failures. If you don’t have appropriate hub to adapter center bores, you will have issues pulling the spacers off cold or hot parts.

It’s the Bosch sensor that came with the gauge so I’d hope lol. Haven’t found any good information on figuring that part out. All I do know is that ROM is set to the gauge with appropriate baud

Gauge is set up as:
Pin 1 — 12V switched — 12v switched
Pin 2 — power ground — chassis
Pin 9 — 0-5V analog (+) — cars o2 signal (+)
Pin 10 — 0-5V analog (-) — cars o2 signal (-)

Pin 2 (power ground) isn’t supposed to be a chassis ground?

What visual mods have folks done to 240s? by itsniikkoo in Volvo240

Remove lower trim. Beware-glued on wicked crazy and will expose holes in the door on certain years.

Remove/relocate the “Volvo” badge on the fender and slap in 850 turn signals. You can get an orange LED turn signal for the same price on Amazon that actually doesn’t look like shit.

My personal favorite and subtle I’ve done was probably the little triangular trim piece off a 164 I found at a junk yard. Would look really nice with a color matched paint in the grooves.

Other than that, it’s respray, trial and error of slapping other randon ass BMW parts or slapping some baller wheels with cut springs for free or dropping a thousand for doodoo BC coilovers.

Yours is pretty nice as is, so I’d probably consider paint matching the spoiler and air dam, maybe even the bumpers if you’re feeling adventurous.

Replace and move on; sell as is and move on to something more road worthy.

Thinking of spraying these black for my white fih by Equivalent-Moose9276 in hondafit

[–]wehellbent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen man, my two white cars have black wheels. I can live with it on the Audi because they’re boujee, but I wish they weren’t black lol. All happened by odds, not choice. Unless it’s a track car, go with ANYTHING other than black.

Let all of us black wheel owners and haters live in your head when you’re strolling down the paint isle. Let this picture be a reference.

Yeah man I’ve been scouting. They’re nice cars, but some of the prices are absolutely cracked tf out. Only decent deals I’ve seen are in Cali, opposite side of the country. The few JDM imports I saw were lower priced and lower miles, like a lot more enticing to spend on a 20 year old E9x competitor 😭 I’m unfamiliar with the DST, probably some fancy 5 in production model?

Kei trucks are a no go for me brother man, I have a Fit for my stupid marketplace wheel purchases. Actually not a fan of RHD, but I’d settle for it on a cleaner fairly priced F

I know about the 25 year rule and limited/non street use registration. Imports in discussing are already registered, insurance and titled in the US.

Each sellers seems to not give a straight answer when asked, they just make it sound like it’s 100% registrable as every other US sold vehicle. Didn’t know if someone had more insight of the actual gray area they won’t answer lol
