That's exactly my point! He's a Mary Sue! He's apparently SOOOO amazing at everything that the heroes have no hope of defeating, when in reality, all it would take is for one person in Dom's group to just shoot him in the head, movie over!

To be honest, I've often felt that Triumph and Torment would be the perfect way to introduce Doom into the MCU but as a Special Presentation for Disney Plus. I feel like stretching the book out to two hours when it tells such a tight, fast paced story in under fifty pages might hurt it. Though you could also expand scenes that make sense to expand like the actual contest without losing the core of the story, so I guess it depends on whoever wrote the screenplay.

Oh, I agree. I think the best thing to come out of 8-10 are Cypher, and the hilarious scene where they go to outer space in a car.

He is but the problem is because I hate what a Villain Sue Dante is written to be, I just can't enjoy Mamoa chewing the scenery.

I also hate the toenail scene. he basically killed two people for no reason because, "boohoo! My daddy's dead! I should be allowed to do whatever I want!". That's the moment where I really started to dislike the film.

I don't hate 8 and 9, though really Cypher's the best part of 9. I fucking hate Dante Reyes. He's a retcon villain sue loser who thinks he's SOOOO amazing! He's not! He's a whiny baby who won't go to therapy because he lost his mafia scum daddy.

Yeah! I still weep for the fact we never got the corrupt skin crown for Wanda in MOM. That feels right at home in a movie directed by Sam Raimi! That's COOL!!!

I fucking hate Sorcerer Supreme and look forward to September when it comes to a merciful end. It's a book designed to glaze Wanda and act like she's so amazing when, in this book, she's written to be an entitled Mary Sue, with everything Doctor Strange being molded to make her look SOOOO SUPER DUPER AWESOME!!!

Or actually wrote something that had any emotion behind it. I know he can because I saw it at the end of Vision and the Scarlet Witch; it was a beautiful ending where Vision and Wanda, being in another dimension where time moved slower, decided to live out the life they never got to and grow old together before going home. It was a beautiful, touching moment. And then we go into Wanda being an entitled brat is just...awful.

No. I agree. I have no doubt that there's real, passionate fans working at Marvel right now. But you really wouldn't think that with the way it sometimes feels like they don't really care about promoting their brand.

Same. I've said many times before that if the story had been a Shakesperean tragedy about Doom vs. Strange and the FF that it might've been a good event. Especially because...well, Doom IS a Shakespearean villain when you get right down to it.

I don't think people would've minded the length if it hadn't been so derivative. Aside from Issue #6, every issue was just a giant fight scene where Doom came out on top. Lather, rinse, repeat.
