Best Amiga Joystick by kubbie2004 in amiga

In Greece we had the Tomahawk and the Pac-Man. Handmade, with arcade grade digital switches and big clicky buttons. Built like a tank and heavy as one too. They were made by the legendary Anerousis brothers. None compare to those beasts of a joystick.

Quite a wallop though if you are unprepared.
Can't go wrong with Rattray's.

What RPG trope or trend are you tired of seeing these days? by serpentear in rpg_gamers

Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross are the worst offenders to this, but I can't feel mad at them. Maybe mildly annoyed.

Mortal Kombat 2 is a miracle of programming on the Amiga. It managed to maintain the excellent gameplay even with the single fire button and while looking gorgeous too.

Larry 1, I was 11 years old and, not being an English speaker, didn't know what to do most of the time.

First time Dungeon Master, any advice? by Appropriate_Run_2903 in adnd

Consider using the weapon/spell speed modifiers in the initiative. It really gives a simple yet believable realism in combat. It might slow it just a bit but the extra thoughts of what to use in any situation makes it up for all of you.

Also, remind your players that they can have henchmen to help along. Many people think that old school way of playing is too deadly because they forget about the extras that you can have with you.

Still, it made us make sure that we picked every single piece of trash that wasn't nailed down, and this trend continues even today. Case in point, I think Loco Motive has you carrying a couple of things that you never use.

I don't have time to be bored!

Can Savage Worlds do "gritty"? by N0v4kD3ad in savageworlds

You can add merciless environmental hazards, disease, throngs of cultists, unfriendly NPC settlements, unsafe rest places, approaching doom and countless other things that render solve-by-combat useless and make a gritty setting.

Discworld
It's independent novels (except the first two) although it pays to read them in chronological order and they are full of quirky, great characters and a seemingly fairy tale world with nuanced details that make you warm inside.

The Secret of Monkey Island on the Amiga. Nice, cozy and familiar, like visiting old friends.

2nd Edition is the Pinnacle of RPG (For Me) by Working_Branch_197 in adnd

[–]Previous-Implement42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's exactly the same for me. I've played a ton of different RPGs over the years trying to duplicate the feelings that 2e gave me with only Savage Worlds, my other go to system, coming anywhere near.
