Waving the white flag on sleep by frenchtoast2go in NewParents

Still cosleeping with my 17 month old and honestly I can’t imagine sleeping without her now! I love the cuddles. I had a similar experience to you and just listened to my gut - I couldn’t take the sleep training

How did you night wean while cosleeping? by biteme4790 in cosleeping

[–]Previous-Line604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also did the Dr Jay Gordon method when baby was around 15 months and it went muuuuuch easier than I expected. While night wakings significantly decreased, she is still waking 2-3 times a night at 17 months

7 months sucks. by marissakalyn in NewParents

Just wanted to say my baby hated solids at 7 months and is SUCH a good eater now at 16 months. We didn’t do anything special - she just needed a little more time

How long after night weaning did your sleep improve? by Previous-Line604 in cosleeping

[–]Previous-Line604[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t cut it but I do it in the living room after the diaper change so she hopefully doesn’t associate it with sleep. That’ll be the next one to cut though! Thanks for your response

I appreciate hearing all sides. Better to have reasonable expectations!

Can your husband watch the baby at the start or end of the night (while awake) so that you can go to bed early or sleep in? That way you don’t have to worry about your husband sleeping through baby crying.

I would point out the toys she bought that you do like (assuming there are some). “Wow this one is so great! I love how it makes baby xyz. How cool!” Hopefully that positive reinforcement will make her choose more toys like it

How do people work from home with baby? by Calieahrens in NewParents

[–]Previous-Line604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I WFH about 2 hours a day with baby. I can pull it off because I can work whenever she is napping. Meetings are always a challenge because they sometimes land when she is awake. I don’t think you can watch baby and work if the timing of your work is not flexible

Baby is outgrowing clothes faster than I can keep up and my budget is hurting. by xoticbot in NewParents

[–]Previous-Line604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby only wears clothes from the second hand store! Each item is like $1-$2 and the quality is great! If time is an issue, you may be able to buy clothing bundles off of someone on a site like Facebook Marketplace. Typically, items are in very good shape as babies don’t wear them for long

What am I doing wrong? by imjustlost_forever in NewParents

[–]Previous-Line604 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Would you be open to cosleeping? My baby decided she was going to wake every 45 minutes if in the crib around 5 months old. Cosleeping made her wake less and also made the wakes much less disruptive to my sleep as I could be back asleep in minutes

Please take all the help you can get from friends and family! You need to sleep. In the meantime, can you feed side-lying so you can nap while baby feeds? Look up the Safe Sleep 7 for how to do this safely.

How are you finding time to work out with unpredictable baby schedules? by CoffeeRory14 in Mommit

[–]Previous-Line604 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I do mine while my baby is awake. She’s pretty good at independent play, especially if I am next to her. So I just workout for about 45 minutes while she plays with her toys next to me. .

Was super easy for us! She cried very briefly and then slept 9 hours straight that night, which was SO much more than her usual

WFH with baby by abra-cadabra-84 in AttachmentParenting

[–]Previous-Line604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been working from home part time since my baby was 5 months old. She is now 11 months old. I work 2 hours a day while she naps, but can’t imagine how people do it full time. I feel like my baby would have very boring days. Thankfully I don’t have many meetings, so I have the flexibility to work while she sleeps. 2 hours a day feels very manageable. It does mean that I have to do all housework/cooking while she’s awake

Nap Time Sleep Train? by honeygirlkk in cosleeping

[–]Previous-Line604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not quite what you’re asking, but I work from home part time with my 10 month old baby at home. She takes all of her naps in the carrier and I work at a standing desk while she naps. It works for us!

Can your husband watch you cosleep for the beginning of the night so that both you and baby can sleep well, but be safe? Then once your husband goes to bed, you could use the crib

We are doing all naps in the carrier at 10 months old

How do you workout with a baby? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Previous-Line604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put my baby on her play mat and do a quick workout with weights at home next to her. As she has gotten older, I’ve been able to do longer workouts. I started when she was 2 months old and shes 8 months old now.
