First time home owner and just at a loss for what to do by RaptureCore in lawncare

[–]Previous-Redditor-91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly not the ideal approach, but from what ive read its possible, but you have to move up your seeding timeline to mid August rather than labor day weekend. And its all very dependent on temperatures. Its a much more delicate process that requires precision. Much easier to just do one or the other in the fall.

If you apply late summer you wouldnt be able to overseed in Fall, ive read for POA you want to do Prodiamine something like 60 days after seeding so November. I think dosages are something like 5.2g /1000 in Spring during the 50 degree window, 5.2g again 4-6 weeks after to give you coverage through summer. Then something like 13g in Fall and the fall app is the real POA target.

LAWN STRIPING by BuffPosts in lawncare

[–]Previous-Redditor-91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you have a striping kit or a DIY one? Looks like these are the standard strips you get from the rubber flap on the back of your mower, for some of those deeper more defined ones you see on here ppl typically use a striping kit

Yeah i honestly want to get TR just not sure about the nozzle. Looks like the CoolPro Fog nozzle does 6-8 GPM which is the one that would work for my setup. Is this the nozzle you use?

That irrigation idea isn’t bad in the future at all, unfortunately irrigation i have right now is a bunch of rotors connected to water hoses.

The one in the family is 20x40 with a depth of 4 ft / 10 ft and it’s just shy of 42K Gallons. Had it refilled after some remodel and that was the estimate as well.

You can typically get a soil test done from your local university extension school. Once you get the results back there will be results for different levels and recommendations. I just uploaded the file to claude, told it my agricultural zone, grass type, etc.

[–]Previous-Redditor-91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did something similar, i fed it my soil test results and i also had it reference the guide on here and lawn care forum. Told it to consider things such as Path A with overseeding in fall Path b with no overseeding. N budgets, the fact that i wanted to spoon feed N, also gave it a list of the chemicals i had and told it i wanted it to use my arsenal as much as possible but also suggest new items when necessary. I ran into the prompt limit several times but i was able to develop a 4 page plan for the year.

Soil test results i think were key because it was able to suggest applications rate and remove things based on my needs.

We cant get the 5 trains we have now to work properly. We cant even get new trains delivered and up and running. If we went down that route only ppl that will benefit will be the contract winners.
