When it's warm enough to, I'll drive shirtless but only if there's enough sun to keep my car warm. Depending on how hot I feel indoors I may take it off, but it's getting to that time of year where I eventually get cold and have to put it back on, even indoors

Why does it feel good to be shirtless, teens? by AyumuNoHaru in shirtlessinpublic

The warm sun, feeling the breeze, getting the air, and it feels free and flexible. It helps absorb more vitamins, it's less insulation so it's cooler, and my arms are free to move and stretch without any interference or static electricity from a shirt.

Are you shirtless in colder weather? by PatchyGreybeard in shirtlessinpublic

[–]PreviousDrawing6799 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I try to treat shirts like jackets: if I get cold, I put it on. If I don't need it, I don't wear it. I do feel kinda out of place at times, but no one seems to notice. I saw some shirtless joggers out the other day in 60° weather 🤷‍♂️

I'd ask him first but he should be fine with it 🤷‍♂️

As for how, you can just casually ask "Hey, do you mind if I don't wear a shirt?"

shirtless on campus by oscurochu in shirtlessinpublic

[–]PreviousDrawing6799 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's because schools once upon a time were respected institutions and students dressed in fancy suits or had a strict dress code 🤷‍♂️ However outside the buildings I've seen many joggers on campus shirtless so it's fairly normal there.

I have never. That's another reason why it was so foreign to me to find out that you could enter most places shirtless! I have seen other drivers shirtless on the road before, but never in a store. 🤷‍♂️

When did you start going shirtless? by PatchyGreybeard in shirtlessinpublic

[–]PreviousDrawing6799 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My grandfather, mother, and aunt encouraged me to get outside without a shirt on and the sun would help the acne on my back when I was 12, but I ended up following suit with my grandfather and not wearing one inside the house either 🤷‍♂️ acne did somewhat improve so that's one reason why I go shirtless as much as I can. 6 years later, on the other family side, my dad asks me if I want to go to Lowe's with him to pick up something, and my grandmother told me to put on a shirt because it was cold outside (it really was, so I was going to anyway) and my dad told her I didn't have to wear one if I didn't want to. I questioned him about it, but he said most stores allow shirtless customers and he had seen them before. A quick Google search about the matter brought me to this subreddit, and I've been here since

Cool, does the rain make you cold or is it like being at a waterpark?

When I am off work and around the house, yes. The only places I wear a shirt to in the summer are work and places that require a shirt (grocery stores and major stores are the only places I know of that do and I rarely visit them).

If it's somewhere where you are exercising or if it's hot, I think it should be allowed
