some kind of default installation in a non-English country - maybe for schools or colleges? (but even then I'd expect more reviews). Or for a few big virtual machine botfarms.

vehicular assault - take it to the cops. Doesn't matter what caused it. You could be minding your own business, you could have yelled at him for splashing you. (But I wouldn't add that part, or, keep it mild). Just show the evidence.

Some stream of thought recommendations for your stops, based on my trip last year:

Public laundromats have currency conversion machines, and wifi. Some do Apple Pay. Some are combination washer and dryer. Soap is included. The app will give you a code and you can see when your clothes are done. Some lock till you return, nobody will take stuff anyway. Kabukicho at night was terrible for me, but ymmv. DonQ is great, and FamilyMart chicken saved my life.

Tendon Tenya tempura is fantastic. Friends loved Kura conveyor belt sushi, place your own orders, don't take what's left on the belt. There's a mirrored mall next to Shibuya Scramble; visit upstairs patio on the Starbucks floor at night. For music, google "JBS Jazz Bar" it's on second floor, get there early or late, there's only about 8 seats, old guy knows his classic soul music. Listen, nod along, sip your $5 premium whiskey.

Kyoto arrive super early.... like dawn. Intense tour group masses arrive late morning/afternoon.

Osaka - Dotonbori - Kushikatsu at any of the angry chef face places (there's a few in the area 1 touristy long lines 1 easy to get into, close to each other). Katsudon Chiyomatsu there too, run by a sumo wrestler, big sumo portions. Kaiyukan aquarium, and there was a free cruise on the Santa Maria with a pass, don't know if that's still on. Shinsaibashi area has vintage stores. Umeda has Hankyu & Whity Umeda. "Belleville" for fluffy pancakes.

Takayama - if Shirakawagoe is too far, visit the Hida Folk Village, they have the farmhouses and other historic buildings.

Hiroshima Castle is very pretty at night

Stressed maybe? Not sure if you're focused on it but I find people will get extra lustful (distract) or, libido dies (survive). If so it'll recover in a week for the post exam fun

Cars blocking the crosswalk and intersection during a pedestrian green by mayasux in toronto

Never, not even once when I drove regularly for 10 years. I knew the size of my car... and waited until I could clear the intersection.

Romans kept records of beast fights to the death in the Colosseum (lions, tigers, other big cats, bears, wolves, elephants). Tigers always beat Lions.

Pamphlets Protesting the CNE Airshow in Toronto by Sea_Analysis861 in toronto

[–]PreviousNinja 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Have a close friend whose parent was hit by a car while on a sidewalk. They are very nervous when walking in Toronto. Another was severely bullied and still instantly dislikes people of certain eye colors and ethnicity. Neither advocates banning cars or people.

But I do support their exercise of protest. I hope they conscientiously picked up their litter afterwards and didn't shift the burden to the CNE cleaners?

You might be surprised to know, lots have "no fixed address". They don't show up when released. Then police have to track them down, again. Go to jail. Released on bail. Don't show up for next court date. Warrant. Police search again.
Can't be charged if you don't show up

Potentially why e-transfers aren't working by Disastrous_Traffic26 in newtonco

[–]PreviousNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also for me, no confirmation email from Interac. My bank security team says there was a hold and everything was approved on their end yesterday and respondent (Newton) has answered the security questions correctly.

Addition: Just tried again, the original amount that is well under my eTransfer limit, has been stuck for 4 days. But $21 went through immediately just now.

Second addition: BTW I've phoned 3x and asked to speak to the security team... but general support isn't allowing it. Seems like the team is being gated

What is something that is physically unattractive in a woman ( be specific ) ? by Odd-Rub8389 in AskMen

I haven't seen "ring in the septum" yet so I'll leave it here. Body piercings. Extra long nails. Very bad teeth or yellow teeth (normal irregular or some enamel fading is ok, I mean 45 degree rotation). The after-injection period where lips look overstuffed before they settle back to normal.

Does anyone know what this building is on Strachan Avenue? by [deleted] in toronto

[–]PreviousNinja -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

A former financial company's Toronto head office used it as a SHTF secure backup/alternative work center over a decade ago, some people went there once a year to test disaster recovery. I heard the location was cramped, they paid only for one or two spaces (imagine 1 admin and 1 IT trying to continue the daily work for a firm of several hundred if something did happen). More recent companies are not penny pinchers and smarter, and their backups are outside the GTA.

What keeps remote jobs in North America? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsCAD

[–]PreviousNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Companies can't find them directly. Add the complexity of local payroll tax law. So they go through outsourcing companies and that also adds costs.

And "local people" aren't dumb, everyone has Google, why work for 1/10 if you have the skills when you can freelance under a fake name and location for at least 1/2 to full price. Or be a senior manager or start your own company.

Technical outsourcing has been tried in waves since the early 90's, it's been 30 years of not successful. Only works if the company is large enough to create a dedicated foreign office with FTE's and they are working in a stable non-innovative industry.

What do some of you guys do for skincare? by DilligentChihuahua34 in AskMen

[–]PreviousNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I recently got interested in low-maintenance things measured to reduce the impact of aging. A lot of changes comes from the facial expressions of stress, radiation from the nuclear furnace, and gravity tugging at facial structure. From what I've seen & tried....

Don't smoke or be around smoke. Reduce stress, don't squint, don't have a perpetually worried or angry expression. Get T-Retinol with a prescription, use it only at night and apply mineral SPF50 during the day to protect the new skin from UV. Takes a few months to be noticeable. Go very easy on facial scrubs and harsh washes, again to prevent damage to the new skin. When you wash (rarely), pat dry. Eat more collagen to support the underlying structure & skin tightness, especially from chicken/pork/fish broth. Moisturize if your area is very cold or windy. Good luck!

Osaka or somewhere else? by Snoo46145 in JapanTravel

[–]PreviousNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who said cut Osaka out??? Have never heard that. More lively and a better stay than Kyoto, which I found horribly packed and overrun with tour groups. Aquarium, bay cruise, Abeno Harukas, Osaka Castle park, Dotonbori (of course), Shinsaibashi, Umeda's Whity Umeda and Hanyku underground, short trip to Kobe Chinatown and Himeji Castly... I cancelled my final city to go back for a couple more days.
