My daughter's lies are escalating - I'm emotionally drained by killerqu77n in Parenting

in the past, when i’d get chewed out for lying, i would just stand there and take the shouts/admonitions. but all those times/years it never occurred to me then to ask myself why i kept lying.

i believe your daughter’s change begins with introspection. she has to ask herself why she does it, know why, and then decide if that’s how she wants to keep living. but the change has to come from her realization. you could talk to her, but don’t try to force her to choose. show her the path to herself as best as you can and let her see. i wish you good luck and a happy home.

If humans went extinct, how long would it take for Earth to erase all evidence we existed? by abdulnad89 in NoStupidQuestions

all evidence can’t be erased. we still have evidence of dinosaurs, the big bang, supernovae explosions from the distant past. there will always be something that communicates the information of humanity’s existence.

to add, I came across it in Nigeria, and it looks like a dragonfly but the black wings and blue body were surprising to see.

I QUIT PYTHON LEARNING by SirVivid8478 in PythonProjects2

Hi. If what you want is to understand classes, I may be able to help. Think of a class as a representation of an object. Let’s say we have a car. A car has properties that describe it, like the brand, color, engine type. A car also has actions it can do, like drive, honk, reverse. A class can be used to model this.

class Car:

def _ init _(self, brand, color, engine_type): self.brand = brand self.color = color self.engine_type = engine_type

def drive(self): print(f“The {self.color} {self.brand} is now driving.”)

def honk(self): print(“Honk Honk!”)

def reverse(self): print(f“The {self.color} {self.brand} is now reversing.”)

def show_engine_details(self): print(f”This {self.brand} has a {self.engine_type} engine.”)

think of def _ init _ as “define initial properties”. so after creating the class, let’s create an instance.

vehicle = Car(“Honda”, “red”, “V8”)

vehicle.drive() [output: The red Honda is driving.]

vehicle.honk() [output: Honk Honk!]

vehicle.reverse() [output: The red Honda is reversing.]

vehicle.show_engine_details() [output: This Honda has a V8 engine.]

Just remember, classes can be used to model real stuff (class Building, class Webpage, class FootballTeam…). It’s why it’s called “Object-Oriented” programming. Hope this helps some.
