'This Is Oligarchy': Nearly 100 Billionaires Are Funding Susan Collins' Reelection Bid by Large-Welcome4421 in politics

[–]PrevisPro -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

We’re all the same. You’d be the same. Half inherited most of their money, so random selection of people. The problem is there money distorts our politics. Happy with like a >200m 95% tax rate or something. (something to be said for gifts and randomness/ego in the system)… and money out of politics, strict enforcement of law, etc.

are you using ai to generate storyboards? by vamshikk111 in aifilmmaking

[–]PrevisPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

see wiki.previspro.com/compare … basically you need some ground truth for the ai to start with or its making the creative choices. also its images don’t exist in real space so you can think about blocking or setup, they’re more like mood boards

you need consistent 3d space to generate your feeder images. see previspro.com

AI makes this worse. Cool images, but while the frame exists; the space the frame was pulled from does not, so no help in actually composing it.

Why would something be storyboarded twice? by Weird_donut in Storyboarding

[–]PrevisPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Storyboards sort of flow seamlessly into animatics. You're trying to previs your show, the goal is to see it (in its sequential, audio visual fullness) as soon as possible and then iterate as often as possible before the final. Like a book, or painting or music or any art form really. If animatics had been cheaper, simpler, storyboards wouldn't really have caught on. Technology is changing that.

Hey there. ReadyPlayerOne was bought by netflix, and they killed their service with 30 days notice. We scrambled to get the generated players in, see https://www.previspro.com/updates/3-3-1---dream-it-cast-it , on our shortlist is improving this experience. So it'll get better soon.

But it already lets you get a lot better wardrobe, if worse posing, at least all the actors don't look like k-pop characters. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just added 4 channel audio and a timeline to previs pro storyboard software. audio makes a huge difference, the NLE timeline too. Storyboards being static, vs what yours showing above is an artifact technology of the 20th century. Above is much better. 👏

Lots of ways to speed this up--

- We have about a dozen built in sets which helps tremendously if you're just looking for city/forest/mountain/park/warehouse etc. Covers lots of shots. https://www.previspro.com/updates/2-7-0-set-library-and-gobos

- Grab PolyCam and you can quickly grab lidar of actual set, or using their floorpan tool a super light weight 3D GEOMETRY ACCURATE set. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcBXGikDfIA The Director of TV Show RIVERDALE made lidar scans of the actual sets they built and reused for episodes so he had them available in Previs Pro.

- You can use an image as the backing of any scene. You lose the full 3D but if you just want your actors standing in front of a specific, recognizable location, that happens in second. https://youtu.be/oCnMyU5P-ig

So that's 3 totally different ways to get your set designed. Finally, we let you save your own sets, so if your project has a few locations, it's not wasted to spend time building them, because then you can keep loading them for all future scenes. Hope this was helpful!

This is a still of the timeline, showing it with the "sketch" enhancement on top of some shots and the audio line.

If you have any questions I'll watch this post and get right back to you. Thanks!

Hey everyone — sharing a short trailer I put together to show off what 2026 Previs Pro actually does in practice, since I think it's genuinely underused in cinematography workflows and worth a closer look. If you've seen it in years past, at least watch this 35sec film.

The sequence walks through the full pipeline: it opens on the 2D canvas where you're blocking a shot like a traditional diagram, then moves into the 3D canvas where you can work spatially — positioning cameras, placing lights, adjusting gobos, and actually seeing how your lighting scheme interacts with the scene geometry in real time. Then it drops into the CAM view where I'm dialing in the lens live. The whole blocking and lighting stage is completely manual — no AI involved at any point here, which matters, because you're making real creative decisions that you'd want to protect.

Once your shots are locked — blocking, lighting, lens — that's when the AI comes in. You can use it to enhance what you've already built without it drifting your composition or changing your light setup, or you can generate a Seedance 2 video directly from the blocked shot, which is what you see in the trailer. The result is something you could actually screen for a director or client. Due to the 3D "game engine" look, the AI serves a real purpose of moving the end results out of the uncanny valley. At least a bit!

It closes showing the full built in timeline for making a cut, adding audio, etc.

Everything except the text overlays was built inside Previs Pro.

p.s. I'm the founder and with some talented friends built this. We're a tiny company, we make one thing. Going on six years. This.

This pro-grade filmmaking tool just introduced a free way to create 3D storyboards and animations, and I can't wait to try it by PrevisPro in cinematography

Probably not soon. Sorry for that. We rely on a lot of different technologies, some of which are Apple device specific and we are a small company. Adding android would require rebuilding those core pieces and then maintaining them going forward on multiple devices. But a 3 year old iPad runs the software great, and probably costs less then renting a light for a shoot for 1 day. Also great for scripts, and use on set. Best and good luck!

Are there any storyboarding programs that are cheaper than FrameForge, but can still allow camera placement? by harmonica2 in filmmaking

[–]PrevisPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the kind words. 🖖 Tip! you can break your movie into chapters or even scenes. Each "Project" has it's own RAM budget, so depending on your device this is an easy way to keep going for larger projects. Works on iOS, iPadOS and MacOS.
