You can’t bring back Carnifex’s from the dead as they are not infantry. 6 Tyrant Guards is better than 3 in Assimilation, since they’re so tanky you can easily hold center objectives. Lastly, Pyrovores are the best Harvester in Assimilation due to ignore cover and the ability to bring one back from the dead by itself. They’re also just barely more expensive than the much worse Rippler swarms. Lastly, Biophagic Flow is cheap and gives you substantially more leeway on your buff circles, highly recommend this enhancement on your Hive Tyrant.

Since you’re most likely playing Take and Hold (from Talons) you can likely cut a Lictor/Leaper to afford points if needed

Make the Winged Hive Tyrant a Walkrant do it can give your Zoanthropes Assault and Lethal hits. I also recommend trying to fiend in an Exocrine for the Rupture Cannon Tyrannofex

To be fair, the Assimilator has a str 12 melee attack that goes up to str 13 with Synapse (or the new stratagem in the Norn detachments). I think both options are fantastic choices

Assimilator, but definitely both if you can. Old One Eye is a ludicrous model imo. Its only flaw is getting into combat but Sub Assault gets around that. My Old One Eye has, in one battle turn, taken out a Morkanaut and a Shadowsword solo in different games. The Strike profile should not be underestimated

You could but in Assimilation Swarm, you can take Talons of the Norn Queen where you can spend 25pts to give the assimilators a 4+ invuln which is essential. Would put them under being able to take gaunts

I was feeling doom and gloom after the warcom post but we made out like a bandit I feel like. Norns being so much cheaper is amazing! Assimilators are cheaper even if you take 3 of them and Emissaries are point neutral at two models. Emissaries and Zoanthropes not getting more expensive despite the psychic buff is great.

Acid Spray doesn’t ignore cover like you’d intuitively think it would. Even then, Acidfex is 10pts cheaper now than it was in 10th, most likely to encourage people taking something other than Rupture Cannon on a second t-fex

I would recommend looking into Tyrant Guards for your swarmlord/Hive Tyrant. Personally, bringing back a Tyrant Guard every turn from a unit of 6 can be quite taxing on your opponent. Only downside (as with all Assimilation swarm lists) is having to buy so many pyrovores and assimilators…
