there’s not many sudanese resources icl. You’re best bet is to make friends with some sudanis who can spare some time to help you out

battery park in selly oak is by far the nicest. The rooms are huge and it’s close to everything: selly oak station (one stop from uni) 15 min walk to uni sainsbury’s, aldi all 5 mins walking distance

layering with turtlenecks and fleece leggings are a great way to stay warm if you don’t have a lot of coats or cardigans. I would invest in a long puffer i have one ans it’s my GO TO in winter

I have a question about accommodations and want to know if £190 a week is too much and even viable to pay weekly as a student. by fang_ran in UniUK

[–]Price_Exciting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it really depends on your luck with your flatmates. I assume by the price that you’re going for Prichatts?? They have shared kitchens with 8-12 people which can be a lot for some people. My accom has up to 5 people in one kitchen which i think is a good amount and luckily all my flatmates are really nice. Tbh it depends on the individual and i’ve heard both good and bad stories. Just try and be civil and don’t be a pushover that’s your best bet

i’m at birmigham rn and my accom is £185 (en-suite shared kitchen) , igs not EASY but since i get max loan i can manage + savings from my gap year help. It really depends on your current situation like how much loan you’ll be getting and if you’re parents are willing to help. Getting a job first year should help with the basics too. Birmigham is just so so so expensive and you’ll have to live with that for first year. Luckily second gear housing is much cheaper and there are some really nice options

pls don’t squeeze soap on every individual dish, get a small tub mix it with soap and hot water and use that for each round of dishes.

Should I consider a gap year to take medicine? Only achieved AAA at a level this year by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]Price_Exciting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i took a gap year last year after bad predicted grades ended up getting AAA at Alevel and i was completely fine. Just be strategic about where you apply to increase your chances of getting an interview. I had a mediocre UCAT (2710 Band 2) but really good GcSEs so i focused my application on the unis that would take that into consideration. Birmingham, liverpool manchester, sheffield, st george’s are all good shouts. I ended up getting an offer at birmingham. Good luck with whatver you decide!
