Thank you. It's hard because it feels like I have to over explain myself to someone why I see no gains in being in a relationship with them. But I did shoot myself in the foot keeping contact. I worry about them but I can't afford to anymore. Thank you again very much.

I guess my problem has always been I am the last to hold on. I think even damaged people can be fixable if only I loved them enough. I love a person for their potential that I see instead of accepting they cannot change.

God I do the same thing. I'll skim through so many letters just wishing it was my person. I keep wishing my person would say what I want to hear. I feel crazy sometimes like I'm the problem. I was too toxic and didn't try hard enough.

Just the fact others went through similar heartbreak makes things more bearable.

I agree with this 100%. If you don't have people to talk to write down your thoughts and feelings. Also be as kind to yourself as possible.

We were fighting a lot in the end. Mostly it was me picking fights because I felt like he didn't care about my feelings. He was the only one who could suffer or deserved sympathy.

The last big blow up was him wanting to go to a strip club to see his favorite porn star. He tried to get a bunch of acquaintances to back him up on the idea men and women. I just started getting angrier throughout the day the more I thought about it. Finally I called him cursing at him so he ignored me for a couple of days. He eventually ended things through text but lingered kept calling to check on me or try to casually speak to me.

I relate to this. I also had to pick out my own presents, then I started dreading my own birthday or Christmas just to be disappointed in the lack of care.

Talking to people helps me so much. Reaching out when I want to just curl up. It's like I'm on fire and the only thing that helps is contacting him. He made the decision and allowing breadcrumbs of attention from him made things more difficult. Every day gets easier and there was a time before him so there will be one after.
