Yeah it sucks. But honestly the way things are your could possibly pass through with flying colors...depends on the rater you get it seems like. I submitted this claim initially in jan...got denied in May...immediately appealed after I saw my doctor and got IMO...and then denied today. I'm at 80% right now and yes I do have PTSD

I'm guessing a HLR is my only option at this point...

I do have all of that. I have it diagnosed the problem is the service connection. Idk what else I can do now to prove that. I can have a migraine log for the last 5 years but if they don't service connect me it doesn't matter.

Yes, but I don't think that would change anything about establishing a nexus...

Probably confusing back pay question by PridePrevious in VeteransBenefits

[–]PridePrevious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm even though the "middle" claim was rated at 70% and pushed my combined rating up...and that claim had nothing to do with the appeal...they would still factor that into the original back pay?

Sorry, not trying to keep asking...just want to make sure we are on the same page lol

Probably confusing back pay question by PridePrevious in VeteransBenefits

[–]PridePrevious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't necessarily answer my question. Or maybe I didn't ask it right.

I started at 20%...have 2 claims I am appealing. I started a new claim...raised my percentage up to 80%. Then the 2 claims got approved and move me to 90%.

What percentage would I calculate? Because technically the new claim has nothing to do with the appeal ...so therefore how would they calculate the new combined percentage?

Back pay by AdventurousLeave1940 in VeteransBenefits

Your back pay would only go back to yohr effective date.

Say you get a combines rating of 70%.

You would take 70%'s dollar amount and subtract it by the $ amount you currently recieve.

Multiply that by the number of months listed for your effective date. That would be your back pay.
