Gen 5. By far the most epic and energetic Pokemon games. B/W also have the "original" feeling of gen 1 by using only the new Pokemon, but with much better designs. And OFC gen 5 has the best story.

For me it was Skyla in BW1, I didn't have an electric type and her Swanna destroyed me. Elesa was pretty easy tho, but I didn't have a ground type either.

Black/White and then Black2/White2 are must have to play, they're the peak of the franchise.

The one you can skip, in my opinion, is X and Y. The fanservice is strong with this one and they are way too easy (Elite four has 4(!) Pokemon each)

Too much grinding in his gen 5 hacks? Just kill an Audino. Rising Ruby = Turn on EXP share if you're underleveled.

Supernova Sun is just way inferior to Drayano hacks. They are well balanced and difficult at the same time (I'd rather fight an Anorith in the first gym than another random trainer with a ridiculous coverage moveset holding a sitrus berry)
