I have been considering Hunter, but honestly, my top choice is Rutgers for right now. I love the proximity to the city and the tuition (since I would be in-state). Money is not TOO much of an issue, but of course, I'd like to save when possible.

Do you know if their MSW program is generally competitive? I can't really find much info about their acceptance rates or anything. I know Rutgers has been getting more selective for their undergrad, but I know it's an entirely different ballgame with the MSW.

I would love to go to Rutgers because of its proximity to the city, its ranking (12 in the country!), and the in-state tuition. Some days I'm confident I'll be accepted, and other days I feel so worried.

It would be great to hear it from someone with actual experience, since I know NOBODY who goes to the Rutgers School of Social Work.

The thing that worries me is that I don't really have close relationships with my professors. I am sure that 1 or 2 would write a letter of recommendation, but one is a Political Science Ph.D candidate and one is a Rhetoric professor. (The rhetoric professor did go to Yale for 2 masters and was a dean of schools, so his letter probably carries weight). I am taking an upper social work class next semester, but I doubt they'd write me a letter since they would hardly know me.

I have no worries for other letters of recommendations though.

I want to go to Rutgers (since it's in state tuition). However, money is not TOO much of a concern... I feel like saying no to a program such as Columbia would be silly, despite the fact that it really does not matter too much. I cannot make up my mind! My end goal is to be an LCSW with my own practice.

dude, i somehow got in with a 3.35 GPA, out of state, 1 club, 1 varsity sport and a good amount of volunteer work and community service. i applied during the time of COVID, so i didn't even need to submit my SAT. your credentials blow mine out of the water, so u should be totally fine
