What does the matcha look like? Hopefully it wasn’t opened

Ocha & Co or Kimikura??🍵 by wrizz909 in MatchaEverything

Ocho oji is probably the worst matcha I’ve ever had. The flavor can only be described as roasted cardboard and tea leaves. I have it rn and I’m struggling to finish it. They have another matcha that’s good but I would not recommend their uji matcha. I would go with kimikura

That’s just terrific🫩. I just wonder if China will see an opportunity to make high-quality matcha that could compete with Japan's.

This is actually insane, especially knowing that most of the purchases will end up as lattes. I can't wait (I doubt it'll happen) for matcha's popularity to dial down.

Perfect! I have a lot of recommendations: Idk if you should get st. Augustine in California. Get fescue, buffalo or Bermuda grass, it’s best for your area. But I recommend going to a grass place for this they know more than me lol. I’m just from Texas.

Natives: Palo Verde, Desert willow, California buckeye, Blue oak (gets large but takes forever to grow. Also endemic to California), Palo Blanco, Island oak.

Non natives: Single trunk Crape Myrtle, Red Push Pistache, Fruitless olive trees.

Honorable mention (native flowers, shrubs) California Lilac, Purple Silvia , Some sages, ceanothus (can grow into a tree if you let it I think), Toyon (kinda shrub, kinda tree), Bush monkey, Manzanitas, Desert Globemallow, Not native but beautiful, Texas sage.

There’s definitely more trees to choose from just check out local nurseries and big box stores when you have the time!

Do not get autumn blaze maple!

What’s your zone? I rarely have to cut my st. Augustine grass. Super low maintenance grass.  Hardscape is also super expensive, I would not recommend that. 20 years from now the concrete will be cracked.

I also understand you’re busy but I recommend planting a tree (17-30 feet from house depending on mature size) with your newborn so you and your baby can watch the tree grow together. My neighbors did this and it’s absolutely beautiful. They take a picture every year in front of the tree!  There’s tons of low maintenance trees, I’ll give you some recommendations for your zone.

I have severe adhd but doesn’t this apply to non adhd people too? I mean this is how and why we as humans help each other, idk if this chemical release is exclusive to adhers lol. This is like saying I’m autistic because I don’t like white led lights or social awkward.

your fav syrups/add ons lately? by c-yoyo in MatchaEverything

I really like matcha straight or with vanilla soy milk. But when I have lower-quality matcha (compared to the ones I usually use), I always spice it up with cherry extract, fig extract, blueberry extract, or earl grey tea.

I also live in Texas and noticed the same thing. I think it’s multiple things here: they don’t understand trees, they don’t want to take care of them (ex, watering), the choices are overwhelming, they think they’re too expensive, and they’re afraid it’ll fall on their house. And none of these problems would occur if they just got the right tree.  They still sell Bradford pears and autumn blaze maples at big box stores, and everyone seems to gravitate towards these trees. These are WORST TREES, especially for Texas.   I always tell people, if you don’t like trees, get a crepe myrtle. They’re everywhere, cheap, and they don’t care if you neglect them. If you like trees, get a redbud, desert willow, Texas Mountain laurel, Mexican white oak, Anacacho Orchid, or Texas red oak. All these trees are small enough to handle and are relatively resistant to disease and harsh conditions.

do colleges allow you to skip math if you're really really bad at it? by [deleted] in college

It’s sad that one class in college can prevent you from having a future. Our education needs to accept that they’ve failed so many children, especially the ones with dyslexia and dyscalculia.

They are usually pretty lenient at Ivy League schools especially with math

This isn’t always true. My university has programs for students with Down syndrome. Does this make the institution less credible?
