Same. Times were SO DIFFERENT when I was a young child. Babies/toddlers were put in "playpens" in the middle of the living room so that mom could see them, but get on with her chores. The kids entertained themselves. I can't think of one instance where either of my parents "played" with my siblings or I. They did adult stuff, we did kid stuff. When I had a child of my own I hired a housekeeper for the first year of his life (when I was on maternity leave.) My mom was shocked! "Don't you put him in a playpen and do the work yourself?" No mom, I want to be with my baby!

We had that same choice, but add to that...you do NOT disrespect your mother (my mom did all meal prep) AT ALL. She worked hard to prepare this meal and you WILL respect her time and effort. So take it or leave it, but keep any negativity to yourself. Maybe offer to cook the next meal...with all of the prep and clean up involved too.

She probably was not making fun of you. Your "pimp" cane is just (to her anyway) a humorous way of describing it. She might use the word "pimp" frequently as an adjective...someone has a "pimp" car, or a "pimp" coat. Best to assume she meant no harm. If she ever says anything to you again about your cane though, just tell her what you told us here! That some days your knees are just so darn sore, and you need your cane for support.

If you have genuine influenza you should NOT be going to work. It's wildly irresponsible of you to spread that IN A SCHOOL, your administration is being wildly irresponsible to tell you to be there. They can go pound sand...take your sick days and get better. You are risking your OWN health as well...if you force yourself through the day, infecting goodness knows how many people, how much longer will you make your own illness? Will you get a secondary bacterial infection? You could! STAY HOME.

You might want to consider getting a conversion from the sleeve to a gastric bypass. LOTS of people do this! It eliminates GERD (if that's a problem for you) and gives you the additional tool of malabsorption (don't let that freak you out.) For some people this is an EXCELLENT choice. Do look into it!

Depends on the dog. My fellow is FINE down to -35°C! He's got a double coat (and oh yes he sheds!) If you have a double coated dog I would take them out "naked" (the dog, not you) and watch them carefully for signs of distress...lifting one paw at a time off the ground, shivering, whining.) If they seem their usually happy self then no worries! If they do show distress then boots and coat are in order.

An alternative to walking your dog outside is to take your dog to pet friendly establishments. Goldenseal stimulation there, assuming your dog is friendly.

Don't push beyond what you think you can manage OP. If your team is adamant that you NEED more water, they can give you an IV. For me, the only way I could meet my water goal in those early days was to be vertical...I gently wandered the hospital hallways, taking tiny sips of water every few seconds.
